Lore silently reached the Fiction and Literature section. She started running her fingers over the spines of the books, trying to find one that was either interesting or in English. Hopefully both. She sat down and looked near the bottom of the shelves, scanning the titles. Alice in Wonderland? She picked the book and started to read it. Within five minutes she was already deep into the story.

Lore looked up, surprised. She smiled. "Well, I did kind of get my childhood stolen from me. And my Dad doesn't let me read anything Muggle-related. I have to sneak." She looked at him. "What book are you reading?"

Lore cocked her head to the side, her hair falling over her shoulders. "I think I may have missed that lesson. I can barely remember anything this year..." she trailed off. She looked up again. " Is it any good?"

Lore nodded. "It's good! Five or six, huh? Let's just ignore the fact that I'm twelve." She smiled. " Though, admittedly, Alice is a bit of an airhead. A lovable airhead, but an airhead."

Lore nodded. "Maybe I just have a weird sense of time. When I was 7 and a half, like Alice, I was learning how best to avoid getting hit and how to clean the floor the right way so I didn't get "Daddy mad at me." Lore froze. She shouldn't have said that. She quickly turned to read, using her hair to cover her red face.

Lore looked up. "I know. They shouldn't. Pretty soon I'm going to alone with him too, seeing as my Mum can't stay around much longer." What he described his father did to him sounded a whole lot like neglect. "Sorry about your dad."

Lore nodded. "Well that's good about your Mum. What's a computer again?" The term sounded familiar, her brother, a squib, had used it every now and then. She smiled about Alice in the rabbit hole. "Maybe following someone with a pocket watch is just not a great idea in general. Especially if it's a talking animal."
