Welcome to the academy's auditorium! This is where orientation, as well as school performances will be held. Fill up the front rows first and don't be scattered around! Get to know your neighbor.

Mood: Excited and nervous
Accompanied By: No one
Status: Healthy

Cedric decided to arrive as early as he could to the auditorium for orientation. As he walked through the doors, he glanced through the room, and began picking up on how big the auditorium actually was. "It's finally time to start the next chapter, huh?" Cedric thought to himself. His heart began to beat faster with each step deeper into the auditorium. A mixture of nervousness and excitement filling his gut. The letter explaining orientation's whereabouts had been in his right hand. It was slightly wrinkled from the grip of Cedric's hand tensing up ever now and then. There seemed to be no fellow students around at the time, and a numerous amount of open seats available for him to take. Cedric walked down to one of the first rows of seats in the auditorium and took a seat near the end of the row.

As Cedric waited for orientation to start, and for more people to begin filing into the room, he began to think about the clothes he had on. His elaborate garments were a gift from his mother who used to tell Cedric about how important first impressions were. Although that may have been true, he felt somewhat odd being all dressed up, as he wasn't accustomed to it very much. He couldn't help but smile at the thought of his parents, though. They had been very supportive of him and his goals. A small amount of homesickness seem to seep into Cedric, but the man simply shook it off for now. Besides, he should feel excited for things to come! Cedric began to fiddle with his thumbs while he waited for the orientation to begin

Did I forget to put on my circlet? Is my sword and shield in good shape? I still fit in my top right? These are some of the questions that ran through Griselda's mind earlier as she finished getting ready for today's orientation. This will be her third year at this academy and at this point she is familiar with how the orientation is going to be like. However, she along with every student attending the academy is still required to go there and she may as well try to look her best. Her choice of clothing isn't something that went beyond the norm for her: a light-brown, strapless top split divided vertically with some bronze patterns with a low bronze v-neck acting as the bottom layer, a black, A-line miniskirt, brown opera-length gloves on both arms and a red ankle-length drapery that wrapped around her skirt. There is a small circular bronze plate by her right hip opposite two pouches with both connected to a belt. The plate bears her family's "shield and spear" emblem.

The pouches normally carried money and other items, but she didn't pack anything with her for now. She is also wearing a bronze circlet headpiece that can be seen above her ear and under her bangs. A pair of small, green, teardrop-shaped emeralds hang from her circlet on thin chains. She is also sporting a large bronze gorget around her neck, and a bronze bracelet on the upper half of her left arm. What ought to be most noticeable about her choice of outfit this day is that she is wearing pieces of armor on her body. These include elaborate bronze greaves that start below her mid-thigh, continuing downwards into her boots and a pair of cuisses that begin mid-thigh and end slightly above her knees. She is also donning a bronze bracer on top of the sleeve on her left arm and high-heeled boots that are brown with bronze trim, matching her skirt and sleeves, and reach up to mid-calf.

All in all, this is something she typically wears and with how long she has attended this academy so far, this won't come as a surprise to anyone who isn't a first year student. Once she felt comfortable to go to the auditorium, she made her way there and discovered that she ended up arriving earlier than anticipated. That is certainly good on her part, but the headmaster is nowhere to be seen. There are other people at the auditorium like she expected, although not a single one she recognizes nor is she familiar with. The majority must be first year students, which makes sense to her. Her left heel is starting to hurt after all that walking she did. She will definitely need to do those exercises that have been helping her out so far once the orientation is over. For now, all she can do is wait for it to start.

Standing amongst a few of his fellow faculty members, Gannon waited patiently for the Headmaster to arriving to give his Orientation speech to the new and returning students of the Grand Academy. It had been a scant eight years ago since he’d stood where they were now, listening to his first Orientation speech as a first-year student. When he’d first come to the Grand Academy as a young mage, he’d wanted to be anywhere but here. He’d only agreed to attend the Academy after his parents had insisted that he at least try it for a year or two. Although his years as a student had been less than pleasant, overall, he had fallen in love with the Academy and all the knowledge it had offered. Thus, after he’d graduated he’d opted to stay and apply for the Faculty advisor position, which, surprisingly, he’d been awarded. He’d been a member of the faculty ever since and hadn’t regretted the decision a day.

One of his closest friends, Ryser Cain, the Professor of Combat and a fellow court mage, stood next to him, looking a bit bored. They’d both arrived earlier than anticipated and now stood awkwardly on the stage as students trickled in. He and Ryser had been friends for what felt like forever but was only a handful of years. Gannon smirked at the memory of how he and Ryser had met; it was all thanks to the beautiful snowy owl perched on his left shoulder, Brageet.

Like Gannon, Ryser had a passion for birds and it was this passion and a lot of curiosity that drew Ryser to Brageet and in turn, Gannon. Gannon had been walking through the courtyard on a spring afternoon when he’d heard Brageet chirp in agitation and flex her talons on his shoulder. When he’d tried to turn around to see what was bothering her, he found that Ryser was standing directly behind him, his finger caught in Brageet’s beak. She’d immediately launched into a tirade about how Ryser had dared to caress her feathers without her permission and how in turn she’d retaliated by latching onto his finger. To his credit, Ryser seemed to hardly notice the wound; he was too enraptured by Brageet. It took a lot of soothing words to convince Brageet to release Ryser, but in the end no real harm had been done; a bandage or two and Ryser’s finger was good as new. After that, Ryser and Gannon had slowly become friends and the rest was history.

Fluffing her feathers, a bit, Brageet shifted her weight from foot to foot as she moved a bit closer to his head. Chirping lightly, she nibbled Gannon’s hair affectionately, wanting attention. Smiling, Gannon reached up and gently caressed her breast feathers. ≪’I’m sleepy…this is taking too long.’≫ Brageet’s sultry voice echoed lightly in his mind. The use of his two-way telepathy did have its perks such as holding a conversation with someone in a room full of people with no one being the wiser.

Letting out a little huff, Brageet leaned against Gannon’s head, cuddling with him. ≪’I know, my love. But we need to be patient. Once this is all over we will enjoy the rest of the day outside.’≫ Continuing to caress Brageet’s feathers, he turned his attention toward Ryser. “Any plans for the rest of the day?”. After the orientation, the students would be free to seek out their assigned dorms and get to know the Academy a little before the start of classes in a few days’ time. This left the Professors with a bit or free time before the chaos that was the school year, began.

𝒜𝓃𝒹 𝒾𝒻 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓉'𝓈 𝓈𝒾𝓃𝒻𝓊𝓁, 𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓃 𝓁𝑒𝓉 𝓂𝑒 𝒷𝑒 𝒹𝒶𝓂𝓃𝑒𝒹 𝒻𝑜𝓇 𝒾𝓉!- 𝒟𝑜𝓃'𝓉 𝓉𝓊𝓇𝓃 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓁𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉 𝑜𝓃!

𝐼𝓃𝑔𝓇𝒾𝒹 had always hated new places. In face, you could go as far as to argue that she disliked anywhere that wasn't home. The blonde liked to be in control, and know her surroundings and this place was alien to her. She had contested going to the academy, the moment she was accepted, knowing that her parents- and the whole of her town- would be glad to be rid of her. This was because Ingrid liked using her powers for selfish reasons, rather than what they were intended for according to her mother. Ingrid needed to learn self control, and how to socialise with other people without taking a hold over their emotions to ensure that they liked her. The problem with her gift was that once she stopped using it, the effects wore off and more often than not her 'friends' realised what was happening. Suffice to say Ingrid became less than popular.

𝒮𝒽𝑒 was scared, terrified that she wouldn't be able to make new friends. And when Ingrid became lonely, it made her project her emotions around in an almost uncontrollable manner. Once she had made a room full of mellow people fill to the brim with rage, and it had not ended pleasantly. This is why she puts on such a cold front, in an attempt to convince herself that everything was beneath her so that she wouldn't get nervous, or scared and neither would anyone else. If anything her overly confident aura would inspire others not to be nervous- or so she told herself. Ingrid didn't know what she would do if anyone tried to converse with her. Would she freeze? Ignore them? Or would she be fine? She mustn't influence them in any way for it was 'inhumane and wrong'. All the berating she had received for using her gift made her afraid of using it, but it was second nature to her already. And habits were always hard to break.

𝐼𝓃𝑔𝓇𝒾𝒹 took a deep breath before entering the auditorium. Everything would be fine. It always was. She avoided thoughts of home that would sadden her, and walked into the room with her head held high. She could be confident, like she always was. Being able to feel others' emotions made her ever conscious about her own and endeavoured to only feel what she wanted herself to feel, alas her gift of manipulation rarely worked on herself. Her clothing choice had been correct, as many seemed dressed up for the event. She wore a gown that her mother had had maid for her by the tailor. It just surpassed her knees, and was made of a fine silk material. The sky blue fabric was made complete by a dark blue corset that sucked in her waist around the middle. She wore blue gloves that came up to her elbows and she felt graceful almost. Her long hair, which went down to her thighs, was merely brushed so that her natural waves showed, though she had adorned it with a few white flowers.

𝒯𝒽𝑒 celebrar glanced around the room with her right hand placed carefully on her hip, searching for the right place to sit. The room was not even half full as of yet, and so she had plenty of choice. Finally deciding to sit at the front, where she assumed most people would thankfully avoid, she walked down the isles and took a seat at the end of one of the rows. All she had to do was endure orientation. Ingrid should be excited about all of this but she wasn't, she was terrified. An emotion she had not felt in years. She took a few moments to calm herself, staring at a point in the floor so that she could pretend that there was no-one else in the room.

RYSERxcain

Court MageProfessor of Combat

Ryser watched the incoming flow of old and new students with his golden eye. His eye fluidly moved from one person to the next without stirring his body at all. He and Gannon stood at the backend of the stage, waiting for the headmaster and the assistant headmistress to arrive. He wasn’t surprised they weren’t there yet, after all, students were still piling in and it would not quiet down for a while. Ryser had his arms crossed in normal, Ryser-fashion and his pointer finger was tapping his arm furiously. He was not exactly a patient person and he never had been. He felt Gannon’s shoulder graze against his and he tore his gaze from the crowd to look at his friend’s profile, as he was looking straight ahead; pale skin and fair hair. It was the reason why Ryser first gave him the nickname of Neve when they first met. Ryser watched silently as Gannon pet the breast feathers of Brageet, the beautiful owl that never seemed to leave his side. Ryser did always wonder what she was saying and Gannon would usually translate, but sometimes the look in her eyes did not match with what Gannon translated.

When Gannon spoke up over the crowd and asked what his plans were, Ryser dipped his head forward and looked at the stage under his feet. ”Haven’t thought about it. Last I heard, there was a tavern opening in the city. I’ll likely head there and drink until dawn.” Ryser’s voice was a low, silky baritone, fitting his dark and fearful demeanor. His golden eye glistened in the dim light that lit the stage and the audience. Ryser enjoyed his time off as a professor and put all of his attention in his work as a Court Mage. He didn’t particularly like being a professor, but it paid his housing in the Academy with some gold left over for mead. Being a professor meant teaching difficult topics. He did not envy Gannon for his job as an adviser.

”Perhaps the lovely Miss Brageet would accompany me?” Ryser added with a small, sly smirk and reached to stroke her breast feathers. Truth be told, he expected a peck or two, but he felt the blood running through her veins and felt she was calm enough to touch.

Entering the auditorium, Alex's eyes ventured curiously, examining his surrounds and the people who filled the space. The boy had to grip his
chest to keep himself grounded in his body. He didn't want to leave his body like he did when he first walked through the door of his house. Of course it wasn't much of a surprise to anyone because it was in fact Alex's first time being outside of his home and all the senses of outside world struck him with such force.

But this time it was pretty much excitement that was stimulating his mind and encouraging him to abandon his body. The brush of silky texture brought Alex to reality as the fabric on one of the student's attire brushed his skin and his attention was brought to her clothes. They were very formal..
"Was this suppose to be a formal event?" Alex questioned as he looked about and realized she was not the only one. In fact, he was the only one that looked out of place in the entire crowd. Sweat started to accumulate as he recalled how much his parents were trying to force such a fancy dress on her. It all made sense now. The transgender boy wore a white v-neck and black jeans with his everyday silvery bed hair that made his hair look naturally curly. His birthmark was visible on his neck and cheek with this sort of attire. Yet, he only shrugged it off, preferring the attire that brought comfort to him nonetheless.

The albino's attention was brought back to the female as she sat in a place that in fact not many sat at. He decided to follow her, and sit behind her.
At first he watched to see if he could catch her attention, while not seeming too creepy, by waiting to see if she'd look around the place to interact with someone. But she only kept her gaze at the floor. Alex pouted for a second before deciding to just jump in and try talking. With a smile to replace the once pouty face, the boy tapped on her shoulder. What the boy hadn't realized was the shock of what it felt to touch another person. He didn't think much of it because he would every now and then touch his parents, and since he had known a woman all his life, he would know what it felt to at least tap a girl on her shoulder. But he was sadly mistaken, he in a moment of registering what had just happened. Luckily he managed to shake it off and not leave his body as his smile returned, though rather sheepishly this time.
"Hey, are you a first year too?" He asked trying to act as if he was bothered by something someone else wouldn't usually be bothered by, "My name is Alex, what's yours?"

Honestly, Ingrid hadn’t expected the school to be so nice, she had been very much in awe with the décor since she arrived. Especially coming from a poorer district, most places were simple and nothing to rave about. She had always thought her home to be posh, but buildings such as this put it to shame. Ingrid could remember a time when she could enjoy events like this however, but now she just felt isolated even though she was surrounded by people. Secretly, even to herself, she wanted someone to talk to her. Since being labelled a freak and a ‘monster’ by some of the kids she knew better than to try and make conversation, consenting instead to keep to herself and stare at the wall.

Physically isolating herself didn’t mean that she couldn’t take a mental wander about the room. She was curious, and wanted to know if everyone was feeling the way she was. Should she suck it up and just get on with it, was everyone fine? Continuing her glance at the floor to hide her eyes, she opened up mentally walking around the room. Almost everyone in the room was feeling that same sense of nervousness. It was difficult to discern individuals when the room was full of people, and she was incapable of looking at them directly. However, she could somewhat detect their distance from her, as closer emotions were stronger. So the presence of a new emotion, which seemed like a conflict between embarrassment, fear, worry, confusion and nervousness, came closer and closer, like a storm in the distance. Ingrid knew that the storm was right behind her, though she did not move, for she was too scared to.

With the influx of such intense emotion, Ingrid was almost overwhelmed and decided to stop using her gift to invade in this person’s emotions, whomever they might be. However, she did not stop before the individual had tapped her on her shoulder. The sudden touch ignited a kind of shock in the person, and the sudden change in emotion- which was rare- caused Ingrid to stand out of fright, turning to face them abruptly. Her breathing quickened and she brought her hands to her face, rubbing them for a moment before re-opening them, to reveal perfectly blue eyes. She glanced at the male with a worried expression, hoping he hadn’t seen her eyes. “I- uh… I’m Sorry.” She said curtly, taking her seat once more. After a moment, realising that it would be rude not to respond to him, she turned to face the blonde boy. “Yes, this is my first year,” Ingrid responded, still trying to catch her breath. “Ingrid Naerah,” The blonde girl’s lips curled upwards into a smile as she reached a gloved hand behind her to shake his hand. This wasn’t so hard, just don’t invade his privacy again. Leave him alone. Leave them all alone. She was ashamed of herself, she should have just stared at the floor. Maybe she was a freak.

Ingrid looked the male up and down, perhaps in a manner that could be considered rude. However, she was merely trying to decipher why he was so nervous, though she couldn't ask him. That would be weird, and she would give herself away. He was attractive, so it couldn't be the way he looked. She couldn't put her finger on it. She sometimes wished she had been born with the ability to read minds, but she was already manipulative so perhaps it was for the best that she wasn't. Ingrid tilted her head to the side as she glanced at him. "Are you excited?" She asked pointedly, not asking her questions directly, merely asking something a person her age would ask a stranger as they started a new school. Perhaps he would explain his fear to her. Or why he was so shocked when he touched her.

“Haven’t thought about it. Last I heard, there was a tavern opening in the city. I’ll likely head there and drink until dawn.” Gannon wasn’t surprised by Ryser’s answer. His was a man who enjoyed his mead and with some free time before classes, it was likely that Ryser would be frequenting the local taverns up until the morning he was due to teach his first combat class.

”Perhaps the lovely Miss Brageet would accompany me?” Ryser’s small, sly smirk was not lost on Gannon. He watched as his friend reached up to caress Brageet’s breast feathers with his fingertips. Luckily for him, Brageet was thoroughly relaxed and practically asleep on Gannon’s shoulder. So, when Ryser’s fingers made contact with her silky feathers, all she felt was another caress; failing to realize that it wasn’t Gannon who touched her. Brageet chirped happily before fluffing out her wings and bit and settling against Gannon’s head, her eyes droopy with sleep.

≪’You’re lucky she’s almost asleep or she’d have taken another chunk out of your finger.’≫ Gannon’s voice echoed lightly through Ryser’s mind as Gannon opened the mental link between them to speak without alerting Brageet to what was happening. If Ryser so desired, he could reply with his thoughts and Gannon would hear him, but Ryser didn’t always like conversing in this way; not many did. It was a very rare occasion that Brageet with let Ryser touch her. Despite years of friendship, she was still very picky when it came to who she allowed to caress her lovely pale feathers.

“I’m sure Brageet would be happy to come, after she’s had her nap of course.” Brageet didn’t even chirp in acknowledgment, she was so relaxed and content. Chuckling lightly, Gannon looked at Ryser from the corner of his eye. “So, are you buying the first round or is it my turn?” Gannon never knew who’s turn it was to buy the first round of mead at the tavern. Nine times out of ten Ryser would say it was Gannon’s turn, but he knew better; it couldn’t always be his turn.

Ryser pulled his hand back to his crossed arms. <<'A worthy sacrifice, Neve.'>> He could still feel the smooth softness of Brageet's feathers in his fingertips and he wanted to keep that feeling in his mind forever.

"I suggest we charm some women into buying us a pint. I haven't been paid for my position as professor yet," Ryser replied, clamping a hand on Gannon's free shoulder. "I'll be having a word with our dear headmaster about that, should he decide to show his face today."

The crowd was steadily growing and the auditorium was getting louder as more people began to converse. So many people all in one place overwhelmed Ryser, but not in a social way. He could feel the heart beats of everyone in the room. He could feel how fast the blood was moving to their lungs and he could feel the anxiety and excitement all the new and returning students felt. His right eye ached and he grimaced, but tried to keep it out of sight of Gannon, whose blood he could also feel. Most people spent most of their lives with their raiment. Ryser only had the privilege of it for five years.

Accompanied By: No one

Cedric continued to wait for orientation to begin. Meanwhile, others began to enter the auditorium a small amount at a time. Cedric looked down to the floor before running his free hand through his pocket. He fiddled around for his pocket-watch, and once it was secure in his hand, he pulled it out to check the time. The start of orientation was drawing near, but it was still relatively early "I wonder how long orientation will be." Cedric began to think. All this sitting around didn't do much to ease his anticipation of things to come, and this led to his right leg shaking up an down as a way to cope with the overload of butterflies in his stomach. He returned his watch to his pocket, and he began to nonchalantly look around the room to get an overview of everyone that had walked in so far.

Cedric first noted a girl with red hair garbed in an interesting getup that fused style with armor of all things. The woman even had a sword and shield with her, so assumptions of her combat skill were made quite quickly "She seems like she's seen a few of these orientations already..." Cedric thought.

His eyes steadily roamed towards the stage area where he noted two men who seemed to be different from the students. This made sense to Cedric seeing as they had been on the stage. One of them had an owl perched up on their shoulder while the other sported an eye-patch. "Hmm maybe they're professors?" Cedric had been taking an educated guess at this point.

His gaze, however didn't stop there, as his peripherals picked up on two other students. One had quickly jumped out of her seat which caused Cedric's eyes to shift fully towards them. The question of what happened began to run through Cedric's mind, but nothing too odd happened next, so he abandoned his question. "Such a peculiar group of people have arrived..." Cedric noted to himself. However his own excitement and observation caused him to forget that he had been staring straight at the two other students sitting near him, and unfortunately, he was oblivious to the fact that it was obvious that he was staring.

<<'A worthy sacrifice, Neve.'>> Ryser's voice shifted through Gannons' mind like a warm breeze, tranquil. Smiling at the sentiment, he knew that Ryser meant it. He'd said something similar the first time Brageet had snipped him for touching her; it seemed his feelings towards her hadn't changed, if anything they'd only grown.

Brageet chirped in irritation as Ryser clamped down onto Gannon’s' shoulder. The motion caused his other shoulder to tip up, jostling her. Gannon reached up to sooth her and within moments she was falling asleep again, the action forgotten.

Gannon smirked at the idea of them convincing a couple of women to buy them drinks at the Tavern. While it might be something that regularly happened to Ryser because of his smoldering good looks and charming smile, Gannon rarely received an offer for a free drink. Yes, he knew that he was an attractive man, but being socially awkward in many aspects didn't help when trying to make friends, let alone when trying to find a lover. "I'm sure you will have no problem convincing one of your many admirers to share a drink with you, Ryser." Gannon said with a smirk, knowing full well that one of Ryser's fan girls would likely be waiting for him at the tavern.

Lost in thought, Gannon missed the way Ryser grimaced in discomfort. It was just as well, even if Gannon had questioned his friend about the action, he'd deny it and say it was nothing. He knew about Ryser's ‘incident’ several years ago with his old flame, Anora. To this day, there are still details that Ryser refuses to speak of; whatever happened between him and Anora, it clearly still haunted him. Gannon suspected this to be one of the many reasons why his friend was such a fan of Mead…

“Worst case, I’ll buy a few rounds and you can repay me once you receive your wage.” Unlike his friend, Gannon was a saver. He liked having a little bit of a cushion to fall back on lest he had a sudden emergency or expense. Buying his friend a few rounds at the Tavern wouldn’t put too much of a dent in his spending money, so he was happy to do it.

"I-I hope I'm not late..!" The panicked voice appeared to come from a young woman with long, light brown hair that flowed with her hurried pace as she rushed into the auditorium, a place that for a moment seemed impossible for her to find... She wore a somewhat formal variation of a schoolgirls outfit: A brown long sleeved button-up top which went over her frilled white shirt. An almost clear pendant could be seen through said frills. Lower down was similarly colour skirt that went just above her knees, black stockings to covered any visible skin and finally a pair of black slip-on shoes with a neat bow on the top.

Fii scanned the large room with her amber eyes, already spotting numerous seated students that appeared to be waiting for the headmaster to begin theirs and her orientation. After a deep breath and a clutch of the necklace she finally pushed herself to move and search for a seat away from the crowds. Nerves appeared to get the best of the anxious young adult as in fear of standing out she rushed to the front rows and attempted to jump into the nearest open seats, not looking as she went almost face-first into somebodies back. "Oof! Oh um, I'm sorry I uh... Wasn't looking where I was going and... And... Um..." She began to stutter before her speech came to a halt as her eyes focused on the person she bumped, almost immediately noticing the red eyes and surprisingly fancy-looking garment he wore. "Uh, sorry... A-again. Hope I didn't mess your clothes or... Something." The girl stuttered as she scurried past the stranger and sat down in the seat beside him, her eyes narrowing and glancing down in an attempt to dodge any direct eye contact.

As the female reacted to what seemed to be Alex suddenly touching her, he grew more sheepish as he assumed that he shouldn't have done such a thing and so he must have frightened her by doing it. He did recall reading a book that said it was bad manners and disrespectful to touch a stranger. The boy listened to the female's apologies, although he wanted to argue, he held his tongue and in returned listened to her answer. "Nice to meet you Ingrid, I'm sorry for surprising you." He responded before turning his gaze to the hand she had extended out to him. Hesitantly he reached out, not noticing her observation on him. Right before their hands met he reflexively pulled his away as he heard her question. Blush was apparent on his face, but he tried not to notice while using the same hand to rub the back of his head. "Hehe, I suppose I'm not too good at hiding it.. It's my first time attending a school." He admitted sheepishly.

Soon he came to feel the eyes of another on him, turning his head to look down the rows of seats, Alex spotted the origin of the stares. It was a boy who seemed to be just as well dressed as Ingrid was. The transgender boy smiled to his and motioned for him to join them since he seemed to be alone. Alex would have gone to the boy himself, but felt that it would be wrong to ask Ingrid to follow him or even to leave her behind. But as soon as the boy began the motion another girl came running into the auditorium shouting. The boy watched as she ran all the way down to the front and into the boy he was motioning to come over. Alex's face showed his confusion as he watched her apologize, not knowing what to do. Should he continue to invite the man? Should he now invite them both? Should he try to go over there? Should he take Ingrid with him? Or should he just pretend he didn't try inviting him to begin with? As a result, Alex ended up just staring at the scene that was made between the boy and the girl from across the seats much like what the boy was previously doing.

Ryser grinned wolfishly, revealing his canine teeth. He wasn't really the kind of guy who smiles warmly and makes people feel fuzzy inside. Whether he liked it or not, he always put people on edge, which he absolutely did not mind. It even gave him an advantage on the battle field. However, the one person he could never seem to scare away was Gannon. Once they shared a conversation, Ryser was drawn to his sense of self and his calmer nature. They evened each other out. And Brageet was obviously a plus.

"Don't doubt yourself, Neve," Ryser began and squeezed his friend's shoulder before releasing it. "You have the skin of someone who has never seen the light of day. You could fool them into thinking you're royalty."

Ryser was distracted by a girl who ran into the auditorium, exclaiming about her tardiness. She was rather thin with long light hair. Ryser glanced at her for a second before turning back towards his companion when he offered to pay for a few rounds of mead as long as Ryser paid him back.

"I wouldn't get your hopes up, my friend. A far worse case would be if I never had the coin to pay you back. I still need to pay for my housing..." Ryser looked towards the podium in thought. He would have to convince the headmaster to pay him his wage upfront before the students even picked their classes. That would be quite a verbal battle and Gods knows that he wouldn't be able to use magic to sway the headmaster.

He was keen enough to know when Ryser did so and he didn't want another broken jaw.
