Jack thought about that, they could fly off and say 'too bad so sad' to her while they left the groundie. "Nora, go." He told her, if they ran they would keep running. Nora could die, Philip.. well he didn't care too much about him, but he could die too. "What? Going to fight me? No offense Jack you know a lot of things, but uh, you kind of suck at all of them." Manami cackled, they both knew she had the upper-hand. Jack wasn't too skilled at magic, he still had to aim his palms to shoot blasts.

He flapped his wings, taking off and going up to his clothes by Manami. She wanted to take joy out of this, and let him grab a dagger he had brought with him. He slashed at her as soon as he could, but she easily side-stepped him and jabbed at him. He had to move back, not expecting what happened next. From her bag she took out his stone, and shot up a spike into him. Stabbing through his white wing. "********> He cried, pulling it out of the spike that jutted from the ground. "Aww, did I get your favorite wing again?" She giggled, his wings were massive; made him an easy target.

Nora stood in the water frozen in fear. Dark storm clouds began to form and rain poured down. She couldn't fly away and leave Jack but she didn't know what she could do, she knew she couldn't do anything. She couldn't fight her, she knew she would lose and be killed. When she saw Jacks wing get stabbed and heard the disgusting sound of Manami giggling. She let out a scream of anger and fear, a bolt of lighting shot down from the sky heading straight for Manami

The flash of light blinded Jack for a second, seeing Manami fall down motionless. While it happened in a matter of seconds, seeing her fall felt like time slowed down. His eyes welling up as he saw the girl he loved and raised die in front of him. After every thing she did, he couldn't help but to let out a sob. Tears streaming down his cheeks as he walked over to her. Bending down to see the girl. His hand placed on her neck feeling her now lifeless. He sat there unmoving. A feeling of bittersweetness filling him. Nora saved herself, and her family wouldn't have to live in fear.. but he lost someone he thought he knew.

Nora remained in the water as she watched the girls body fall to the ground. She felt sick, knowing somehow that she had done that. She had never killed anything before, she wouldn't even kill spiders that came into her house..and yet she had murdered someone. When she saw Jacks reaction hot tears sprang to her eyes, even after every thing Manami had done it hurt her to see Jack being upset over her death. "S..she was going to kill you.." She said weakly.

"I know." Jack said, sounding deadpan. "It had to happen." He said looking back at Nora. Hiding his expression, instead giving her an empty look. Taking the dagger the girl dropped, he filled it with holy energy until it shattered. The pain in his wing subsided immediately. "You should send a raven to Alice." Jack asked her - not wanting to ask much of her but not knowing if he could even stand. Looking over to the small wooden hut built there where she could find one. "I just need a moment." Jack said, looking back down at what was once Manami.

Nora remained still and silent for several moments staring at the corpse. When Jack broke the dagger the pain on her face vanished. Slowly she floated out of the water and made her way over to the hug. Quickly she scribbled a message to Alice simply stating that Manami was dead and where she was. After that she sat down on the ground and pulled her knees up to her chest staring blankly ahead of her.She didn't want to look at the corpse and she didn't want to look at Jack. "I..I didn't mean to it..it just happened..." she said weakly more to herself than to Jack

"You had to." He told her, as he stood him from the body and walked over to Nora. Wrapping his arm and wing around her. Jack didn't want to talk, he had still hoped in the back of his mind he could cure her. For the next hour, they mostly stayed silent. Alice arrived as quickly as she could - holding Nora as soon as she arrived. On her way there she told Annthea to bring some undead to retrieve the body. Doubting that Jack would want her to have a proper funeral, they took her to the catacombs to be placed with the other uncollected corpses. Alice found the stone that she saw Manami with, and crushed into dust, spreading it out into the air around the springs.

Everything felt like it went so fast, a blur in Jack's mind. It felt like had just sat down next to Nora as the undead took her body. He followed them, Alice mostly, holding onto Nora's hand, keeping his wing over her back as they walked back to Philip's house.
