Cold, calculating and arrogant, you can always expect Kronin to do what is best for himself.
What is their backstory?
Vergil, as the sole heir of the mega corporation Kronin Corp, he spent most of his childhood with private teachers learning to run a business. His 18th birthday present? One of the many subsidiaries his father owned. Vergil was very successful at running it and was quickly given more and more responsibility until the untimely death of his father where the entire corporation was suddenly trust upon him. It was a difficult time, stocks fluctuating wildly as investors debated if Vergil would be able to run things, but as always he came out on top. He took Kronin Corp to new heights no one ever expected and now no one really knows how much the corporation owns. You could spend years trying to unravel the tangled web of subsidiaries and shell companies.
What the public didn't know was it was a Deviant who had murdered Vergil's father. He was far from the first member of the public to learn about their existence, and an organization well practiced in cover ups informed him in no uncertain terms what would happen if he tried to go public with it. It didn’t take much convincing. Honestly, for as rich and as powerful as he was, who would believe him that someone with superpowers had murdered his father? It did set him on a new path however, as Vergil’s unrelenting drive had a new focus. While he had engaged in white collar crime previously, he started something much more sinister. A research and development division call Catalyst. While there were several divisions from technology to biochemistry, the central focus for them all was the same. Deviant research. Department heads were given nearly free reign so long as they produced results and their research was kept secret. This has led to some impressive new technology.
