The Family So Far:
Orion, Father Timid and sweet, Orion is affectionate towards his unplanned family, though still getting used to the trials of providing for them. Oblivious to how he became an only cub to his mother, he has been doted upon and rather lucky in life to not know the trials many others go through. He is naive, but still loving and fiercely protective of those he cares for.
Caolinn, Mother Caolinn is a traveler, outgoing and outspoken who will regale the cubs with stories of her exploits. She is a talented singer, able to mimic most birdcalls, and can often be caught absent-mindedly doing so as she goes about her day. Though she's still adjusting to family life, she does so with a light heart and a fierce determination to raise her cubs to be the best they can possibly be.
Oldest Male Zeus owned by [MiddyGlow] A loving cub, Zeus is a sweetheart and loves his family even though things aren't always perfect. He hasn't found his talent in music yet, he doesn't feel singing or the drums are his thing. He is curious and wants to see the world, but he won't leave his family until he knows it is alright to do so. Someday, he wants to travel and see the sea and desert.

Extended Family Although the cubs will likely hear stories about these lions from Caolinn, they will not be involved in the cubs' lives unless they seek them out on their own.
Eamonn: Caolinn's brother, and Jarl of House Heiðr in the Skiringssal. Eamonn is committed and loyal, puts the needs of his house before his own, and tries to always do what is fair instead of what he (or someone close to him) wants.
Mairead: Caolinn's sister, and Farmadr of House Heiðr in the Skiringssal. Mairead is clever but feisty and unlike her brother often makes impulsive, selfish decisions. She has a quick tongue and a quicker temper. She does, however, live her life for the glory of her house.
Na'ira: Caolinn's mother, and Goddess of Rebirth. Na'ira is flighty but loving and adores her family, large and extended as it is. She is wildly protective but unfortunately tends to lose track of both time and place so it may be years before she stumbles back to find them again. Very much a fiery, mother hen persona.

1, You can apply for both, but only win one of these cubs. 2. We would prefer if they are played with their family, at least as cubs/adolescents, before they go off on their own adventures. 3. Please make sure all names are related to stars/the sky/birds, etc.
RP Prompts:
A- Mom and Dad both love the musical nature of the forest, from the thrum of the wildlife to the cacophony of birds on the horizon. How do you feel about the noise?
B- You've heard Mom talk about her family, a brother and sister in a distant land, and even your Grandmother, a lioness with wings like a bird. Are you enthralled by these stories or think they must just be fantasy?
C- Mom and Dad are complete opposites; Dad is timid and sweet [and maybe a little naive] while it's clear that Mom has traveled far and knows how to take care of herself. Which parent do you more resemble, or are you a mix of both? Tell us why.
D- If these prompts aren't your style, tell us about a day in the life of your cub.

- What is family life like? The cubs will be raised rogue in the shelter of a forest somewhere in the rogue-lands. They'd be expected to stay with their parents at least through cubhood; Caolinn would prefer they remain until they're proper adults, but she of all lions understands the need to strike out on one's own.
Their growing up would likely be lighthearted, a little goofy, and even a touch irresponsible - as are their parents. For instance, it wouldn't be uncommon for the cubs to hear a routine task done by both parents turn into an impromptu jam session because one of them hum a particular beat, the other picked it up - and away they went!

Name/Meaning:Lyra It's a star named AFTER a musical instrument :3 ITS also a Greek baby name. In Greek the meaning of the name Lyra is: Lyre (medeival instrument). Lyrical. (just so we know it's safe to use as well!) Male or Female: Female Prompt: A. Entry: Sounds of all kinds flowed through her like a symphony. The way the different noises mixed together could seem like a nuisance to some but to her, it was the most beautiful sound in the world. Everything had it's own place to her ears and it flowed in such a beautiful way that she couldn't help but be lulled by it, drawn to it, wanting to harness it and make it noticed for the beauty it truly was.

Name/Meaning: Pavo | the peacock constellation Male or Female: Male Prompt: B Entry: Pavo gazed up into the trees, watching the colorful birds fly from branch to branch. He had picked up his mother's talent in mimicking various bird calls, but he couldn't even start to imagine what flying would be like. His ear twitched as he rolled onto his back, paws flopping against his chest as he thought back to the stories his mother had told him and his siblings about their relatives. Apparently her mother - his grandmother - had wings just like a bird.
A smile tugged at Pavo's muzzle as he closed his eyes and imagined having wings. To feel the wind in his whiskers and mane, to taste the air as it blew by... was it like running and he'd get tired after a while? Or was it something that could be done endlessly? Birds never seemed to be tired, though they did have to land to sleep.
Opening his eyes again, Pavo rolled back onto his stomach, questions burning in his mind. He'd have to find his mother to ask her more questions about his grandmother and his other relatives. He wanted to know more!

Name/Meaning: Aquila (the eagle constellation!) Male or Female: Female Prompt: A Entry: Sometimes it was just too much. The noises of the jungle were harsh and grating, sounds clashing and beating into her skull - all of it ever-present and inescapable. Until...
Aquila closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She just had to give it order.
She began drumming out a simple beat - quietly, at first, as she got a feel for the sounds that surrounded her. Birdsong - discordant, but a melody could be found in it; a monkey's cry - startling, but regular enough to build a rhythm around. Her drumming became louder, her beat more complex as she grew more confident.
If Aquila ever hated the sound of the forest, she only hated the fact she couldn't join in at the moment - add her own piece to it, lose herself in the music. It was a part of her.

The small orange cub was quiet as he watched his family, coal black eyes shifting from one person to the next. He had never been the most rambunctious of cubs, especially when set next to his siblings, and rather preferred sitting and watching. Some would probably consider him like his father in that regard, but he certainly wasn't timid. No, Levant just didn't like to talk unless he needed to. He thought it gave his words more of an impact.
His tail thumped on the ground as the cub watched as his sister pounce on Zeus, the male cub complaining and trying (unsuccessfully) to push her off. Though he wasn't talkative, it was hard to not play a beat beside him. His family thrived on music, after all, and he found that everything had a rhythm, even their play fights. Levant's eyes narrowed into a determined look as he slunk carefully forward, tail beating silently behind him, quiet and unnoticeable until the last possible second....
Then, with an almighty squeak of a roar, he tackled his sister. Between two boys and two girls, the brothers had to stick together, and he wasn't about to leave his brother to the mercy of their sister!

Thanks so much to the four of you who posted! The competition was fierce, and I wish that we had a cub to give to each of you! Sadly, we must settle for the cubs we have at hand - so without further delay, Citanul and I would like to welcome to the family...
