the feeling of having his strong (they felt stronger now, she noted) arms and large hands wrap around her, however momentarily, was the most welcome feeling she ever felt. It was something she remembered so fondly and had missed so dearly, but it felt foreign - felt new and refreshed. However, just as those swirling emotions had built in a warming bubble before her violent embrace of him, they were kindly welcomed.
Phi had burrowed her face into the tucked shirt adorning Colton's broad chest (her short height not allowing her to reach much past his collarbone) and in relation was oblivious to the showcase of waging emotions and reactions played out on his face and in the deep pools of his eyes. When she pulled back, however, the stone of a few months prior looked back at her. A genuine smile was worn on it, however, and the disappointment that threaten to flood her the moment she saw that coldness on him was eliminated and she smiled broadly back.
He grabbed his luggage and turned toward the large scarlet engine, as her voice rose to her throat and nearly reach her tongue in question, Tristain threw the inquiry into the air before the redhead had her chance. Phi turned and finally acknowledged the beautiful young girl with a bright smile and a happy nod. Turning to the other two, adult members of the Raines family and also offering a nod of greeting, a quiet hello to each and an apologetic look for her previous display. On her heel, she swiveled back to the trolley on which her own things still sat and gingerly picked them up, following closely behind the two Raines children.
"Did you have an eventful summer?" she asked enthusiastically as they began to close in on the Express train, "I am so sorry I did not write, Hermes could not fly all the way from Spain." she quickly interjected herself, her tone regretful and guilty, but molten eyes on fire with enthusiasm and pure joy of being re positioned in the company of both Colton and Tristain.

Colton's relieved smile went unseen as he heard his younger sister voice the very question he had hoped be answered with a yes. The hefty load of both his and Tristain's luggage went nearly unnoticed as he carried all of it with one single hand - his other gripping his sister's tiny fingers.

In a sense, he was glad he had so much free time over the summer. Not only was he able to somewhat control his feelings over his past experiences, but it allowed him to get so many work outs in that he almost felt like a new person. All of his swimming, boxing, and even flying had paid off, letting him clear his mind regularly and build up his ability to defend himself, his friends, and now his sister.

As night threatened to overtake the sky, and a light breeze across Colt's head sent goosebumps down his neck, they approached the steaming train. As hard as he tried, even by replaying out the scene at the hospital wing, the soaring Gryffindor couldn't help but let his heart continue to race. He could still feel the warmth from Phi's embrace, and wished - however empty it seemed - that there had been a stronger underlying meaning in the gesture. Her words of molten lava did not disintegrate these thoughts, but instead made them burn hotter. Flashing the Ravenclaw a sarcastic expression, he held back his laughter.
"Oh, yeah. Who wouldn't love to spend their summer alone, to the point where their daily routine - consisting of mediocre chores and exercise - became one long blur of anxiously awaiting the start of the next school year?" His voice, now much deeper than the last time he had conversed with her, faded off into the setting sun.

Phinelia's second comment made him visibly uneasy, even as he nodded his understanding. She may have had a legitimate excuse for why she had not written him over the break, but he didn't. He couldn't bring himself to write a single letter to any one of his few friends. And now, as they stood by the train, his anxiety was at its height. The old Colton would have suggested they wait for Ronyo, but even after somewhat coming to terms with their awkward situation, he did not have the desire to bring up his name.
"Shall we?" He let go of Tristain's hand to gesture towards the door of the train, hoping no one would notice his considerable hurry to board a compartment.

Naturally, under the presented circumstances of both knowing of the pain harbored inside the strong-standing boy and his feeling of betrayal, Phi would have felt rather accused and confused in the presence of the replied sarcasm - knowing the boy actually held some true feeling in the tone of his word. However, with smile still proudly worn and eyes still flashing with a happiness at the simplicity of even being returned to his company and with the added honor of his sister's, Phi could take noting with critical thought. She beamed at his response when normally her smile would have slipped and her eyes examined her shoes. "Well, all three of us did seem to be out of contact this year." she admitted with a light, gentle chuckle easing her changing voice. His own vocal change did not go unnoticed, what was previously an already fittingly deep voice had hardened with a sternness of manhood and fashioned itself even more naturally around the increased strength and fitness of the boy. Phi was quite awed by how easily his change was coming to him. For her, the discovery of personal desires and thoughts and physical aspects she had never before given thought to had left her in a state of strange confusion. It was not without its easing acceptance and understanding, however.

Finally, she nodded in bouncing agreement and acceptance of Colton's offer and gestured for the both of them to proceed first. Her molten eyes fixated on Tristain suddenly and another smile burrowed out and greeted the girl. Focusing now, Phi realized how eager she was to the probability of having the young girl room with her in the same Hogwarts House.

Jessica Sassareth

Slytherin, Third Year

User Image Jessica Sassareth had been very careful about getting herself to the train platform, giving herself plenty of time to get there. If the pale redhead had rushed herself to the platform, she would risk what happened to her last time: Collapsing. I'm not going to have that happen to me again. I might not be as lucky as anyone stopping to check on me, Jess thought to herself.

As the young Slytherin casually pushed her baggage laden cart, especially after greasing the wheels earlier, her green eyes spied Phi, Colton and ... a young girl she didn't recognize. Wheeling up to the trio, Jess smiled when Colton and Phi embraced, At least, someone is happy...

Clearing her throat, Jess politely announced her presence, "Colton, Phinelia, it's nice to see you both again, and who do we have here. My name is Jessica; I'm classmates with these two." Jess thumbed in the direction of the embracing couple while looking at Tristain.

I'm dreaming of one kiss from you

A love long and true

We'll go on and on

Ryn pushed her trolly forward, coming at the wall. She was happy to be going back to school. Tyler was next to her and her brothers behind her. It took a bit of getting used to but Sean and Patrick actually like Tyler now, just took some time. She is their baby sister and regardless of how old she was, they don't seem to think she can hold her own. They were quite wrong but she loved them and let them do what they thought as best. "Oye Tyler, I'll go first. You better follow me, no cornering the boyfriend while I'm gone now!" She said running at the wall and getting on to the platform. Moving her trolly over to lead it on the train. The 3 boys following behind her.

I'm looking for one kiss goodnight

To last all my life

Inside, Colton's thoughts and feelings were tangled in a knot. Half of him wanted to be happy - ecstatic even - that Phi was in such a brilliant mood. Her glowing eyes and those beautifully-sculpted lips gave off a sort of magic that he had never seen at Hogwarts before. While that half understood she was simply happy to start a new year - and even hoped she might be excited to have redeemed part of their friendship or just enjoy his presence - another half disagreed. Deep down, the part of Colton that was still angry was screaming at him to collapse his smile. Was Phi this happy because she knew she would soon get to see Ronyo? No. He couldn't think like that if he was going to be in their company.

Holding tight to the better half of himself, Colt allowed himself to be pleased that the red head had agreed to sit with them, but just as they were about to board the train, a somewhat unfamiliar voice rang from behind them. Turning quickly, he spotted Jessica, one of their classmates whom they had spoke to occasionally. As much he felt bad for not letting many people into his life, it pleased him for a chance to speak to someone who he was on fresh grounds with. There was no pretending, and he was free to act however he liked without his unruly thoughts fighting against it.

"Evening, Jessica. It's always a pleasure to see someone we know in a crowd this large." About the same time the Slytherin mentioned his sister, he noticed Tristain had taken up a post behind him, for the most part out of sight from the new acquaintance. Tugging on her arm lightly so that she would know it was okay, he drew her to his side to introduce her. "Ah, this is my younger sister, Tristain. She's a first year, so she'll be a little shy until she loosens up. Although I imagine that won't take long once she gets sorted into Ravenclaw." He winked down at the blonde by his side - he knew that would brighten her up a bit. All she had talked about over the summer was how nice the Ravenclaws were and whether or not he would mind if she hung out around Phi. His past response always revolved around his desire for her to accompany him in Gryffindor - he knew how brave she was on the inside, and whole-hearted, too. However, it was time to face the facts...his sister was destined to follow his mum's path.

Even with her brother in the best mood she had seen all summer, and Phi posted comfortably by their side, Tristain's heart continued to race with the pace of a hummingbird's wings. Sure she could deal with people, she just never chose to. The nook in her bedroom had always been her safe haven, where she would spend all of her time rather than playing with other kids in the neighborhood. The only socializing she ever did was in ballet class, but even then she chose to be independent. There was one difference between then and now, however. Before, at least she knew people. Here, she was a complete stranger, an outsider. She would rather be known as the quiet girl hiding behind a book in the corner than not be known at all.

When another girl approached their party, her eyes widened and she slipped behind Colton's back, clinging to his thick robes for protection. The small snake that adorned her silver and green robes told her to put herself in defense mode, though she had to admit, hiding behind her older brother was not exactly defense. She would have to loosen up soon before it changed her - she wasn't use to being so scared. Shy - sure, but not scared.

When Colton silently told her she was safe, she slowly stepped to his side, glad that he kept his arm around her shoulder for support - she needed it.
"H-hi...I'm Tristian. Nice to meet you." She forced an uncomfortable smile on her face, she wasn't as good of an actor as her brother. She always noticed how easily - even now - he was able to appear calm and at ease, when truly, she knew he was hurting over something. Tristain, on the other hand, found herself having to work for that outer-barrier, the expressions of her choosing that would serve as her outer most fortification walls. Despite how much her father had tried to teach her that this would help keep people from questioning her feelings, and how easily she understood the concept, she could rarely meet his standards, while Colton never ceased to exceed them. But none of that mattered, she was daddy's little girl, and daddy was Colton's idol, which meant he would protect her at all times at Hogwarts, necessary or not.

A question seemed to have emerged in Colton's eyes. One of cold and hard-heartened detail, peppering the shifting silver of his sharp irises. Even with her memory of the last moment they had held each other's presence, the very essence wafting off her friend struck her instincts into seeing the pain he harbored under his well constructed mask. She could see the mask in its place, see his acted role and the emotions that filtered through his expressions and movements. The clenching of a fist, the stiff turn of a head, the glance to and from the corner of his eye - reactions lifting the curtain he put down to give her a glimpse of the smoke of turmoil inside him.
Phinelia's eye seized smiling as she watched him closer, emerging from her thick, pink and warm haze of initial happiness. Wit and observation returned to her, and as much as she was still acting with a smile still on her face, her mind worked to uncover the reasons for his own dramatizations. Her thoughts naturally jumped to the past - to the memory of the hospital wing. She had already digested and studied ever memorized detail and aspect to death - she knew there was no answer here for her. Yet, if her mind continually jumped back to it, perhaps there was.
No remedy bore itself existent as her mind viciously tore through thought after thought, nothing to perhaps heal the pain in her strong friend or even help her understand why it was there. Instead, in her thoughts' flurry, her physical body decided on a dedicated comfort; an action she had seen create and ease in the boy standing before her. Phinelia's small hand reach for his strong, calloused one and touched it lightly. Fingers contacting with his skin and asking for entrance to hold and be held. A gesture created more naturally, most purely - she was unaware she had preformed it until the familiar zing of electricity rose up her arm form touching his warm skin.
An unfamiliar voice called for her attention, suddenly, and her head and focus turned along with the two Raines. The redheaded Slytherin girl seemed to be approaching them with a vigor. Phi remembered her name to be Jessica, and memory brought forth a visual from the past of that girl grinding the Sorting Hat into the ground on their very first year. Phi attempted a friendly smile as the memory faded.
She nodded silently at her greeting and easily allowed Colton to speak for the both of them. Her hand still in contact with his, she focused on his warmth with the sudden drain she felt in the presence of the other redhead. Her happiness and excitement still intact for the fact they were returning to Hogwarts, but that pure, ecstatic joy had vanished. Phinelia tried to find its source as she watched the exchange before her (now also involving sweet Tristain) but was brought faced by only a ball of warm and tingling emotion she could not name.

Tyler followed after Ryn his trolley bursting onto the platform shortly after her, Starlight hooted loudly at the sound of other owls. "Well here we go again Ryn." he said with a smile. He glanced at the twin siblings of hers. Don't they trust me yet? he thought. He looked over at the girl.

"Only a true dream
can catch my eye

and hold me down"

The small girl didn't quite have enough upper body strength for the loaded trolley she'd been pushing at full speed through the barrier. When she stopped, the trolley barreled on, Parsley the Eagle owl and Fred the pygmy puff both making a fuss. Charlotte ran to catch up, and stopped it just before it hit the tracks. After picking up a few books that'd fallen off the cart, she turned to face the station, which was growing busier every second. The sign above the station reminded her that she was returning to Hogwarts for the third time, and she smiled vividly. It was just then that she saw the person she'd been thinking about all day. It was her best friend, Jessica Sassareth.
"Jess!" She shouted, and ran towards her at full speed. Right before they met, Kat slowed, remembering Jess's condition. Charlotte hugged her friend, and then walked over to get her trolley. "There's two things I need to say to you, Jess." Charlotte's nerves peaked, for what if Jess declined the offer? That would be awkward. Then she chastised herself. Jess would no doubt accept. Why wouldn't she? "First, these are for you." She handed over the bag of three magic quills she'd picked up at weasley's wizard wheezes earlier. "Secondly, well, I was talking to my mother about you, and she wanted me to ask... well... would you like to come stay with us? It'd be really cool. we could spend the summers together and all." Kat held her breath, hoping for the best. If Jess accepted, this would probably be the best day ever.

From the corner of his own eyes - both burning with an array of emotions - Colton watched as Phi's demeanor quickly deteriorated. Of course she kept her thin shell up to block any obvious change in thought or emotion, but after years of watching her like this, he knew how she worked. Her eyes told a story as her expressions altered bit by tiny bit, though he would never know the tale that was going on inside her head.

Just as he had forced his thoughts from her, and any old chance that he might have had of being with her, his biggest source of confusion confronted him. A warm hand slipped into his, and without even thinking, he automatically weaved his fingers through hers, taking advantage of her soft, fragile touch while it lasted. While his physical reaction seemed so natural, his insides were frozen. As the bustle of the crowd continued around them, Colton's world was suddenly still and silent.

Immediately after the inconspicuous embrace, he turned to look her in the eyes, his face clearly seeking some answer. He wondered to himself what it was that made this girl tick. He couldn't quite understand her behavior, especially after coming to terms with the fact that this right here - even the simple action of holding hands - would never be possible.

Still blocking out all of the outside banter that was taking place around them, he dropped his eyes to the ground, though that wasn't what he saw. In front of him her face still lingered - perfect in every way. His jaw pulsed with emotion and his hand acted on its own, squeezing hers lightly in a hidden gesture that correlated with his thoughts - thoughts that he would never let anything happen to her - no matter who it was she fancied. As awkward as it may have been for them to stand on the platform in silence - Colton didn't care. He was completely oblivious to anything but what he saw in his head, and what he felt in his hand. Nothing else mattered.

Jane trudged through the station feeling rather uncomfortable. She had left without really talking to Thomas and it had made her feel more horrid then she already was. And of course it didn't help in the slightest when she noticed Phinelia and Colton out of the corner of her eye. Jane wanted to ran away or fade into oblivion but here she was. She wanted to die. She couldn't take it anymore. She was going crazy! Jane tightened her brightly colored sweater around her body and tried to pull her trolley away before she could be spotted by anyone though somehow she knew she would fail and heaved a great sigh. She pushed up her new glasses and averted her eyes.

Patrick smiled as his sister mad her way through the station. She was growing up to fast for his taste but she was turning out splendidly. Her boy Tyler was an alright kid aswell though he wasn't fully ready to admit it. No one messes with his sis with out them keeping an eye on the bloke "Hey Red! We're just here to keep an eye on ya. Mum had to go ahead early and Da is workin' Not my fault you need someone to keep ya out of trouble." said with a chuckle. A smirk on his face as he went through the wall and on to the plat form.

Sean joined in with his brother's teaseing. "Yeah and we'd never hurt poor Tyler here cause he's been to the shop and knows what we sell to anyone. Imagine what we've come up with that we deemed not fit for just anyon'." He tagged on with a chuckle. He liked the boy just fine but loved to make him feel frazzled. He mad his way through the wall with the others. Once on the other side, he took Ryn's luggage and loaded it on the train for her.

Jessica Sassareth

Slytherin, Third Year

User Image Jess smiled warmly at both Colton and Tristain, "Good to see you too, Colton. I'm depending on you to help keep me on my toes in class. You are very good. And so are you, Phi, "then turning her attention to Tristain, "And if you do end up in Slytherin, I promise I'll help you anyway I can, okay?"

A very familar voice got Jess' attention, turning just in time to be hugged by Charlotte, "Oh Kat! I missed you," the pale redhead hugged Charlotte back, and blinked a moment when the Hufflepuff handed her the enchanted quills... and heard her proposal. Blinking away surprise, Jess answered the now blonde girl by hugging her again tightly, her green eyes becoming moist, "As if you ever had to ask... Yes Kat, I'd love to stay with you. You're the best.... And when did you become a blonde, anyway?"

Rosemarie burst through the archway hidden within the stone column. Her trolley covered by her trunk and a package. Her barn owl hooting shoftly as the sound of other owls and animals came with the noise. "Time for me to finally start at Hogwarts" she said with a smile. She looked through the mist and saw several people. I hope I get in Ravenclaw she thought before pushing the cart towards the train.
