Smoke Manipulation- By turning smoke into a weapon, Garrett can create, shape, absorb and manipulate smoke. He can use it to fire long range to short rage projectile attacks with various intensities depending on how much power he uses at one time. Defensively, Garrett can break his body down to a smoke form for a series of quick movements for evasive actions.
-Create smoke screens for cover to escape foes.
-Clear smoke from an area, clearing one's vision and air.
-Can use a smoking source to heal himself.
Do they have any notable weaknesses?
Garrett's current level of control over his power isn't something he would find himself bragging about. From his powers discovery, he's done his best to just leave well enough alone until recent events have forced him to try and learn what is now apart of him. Sometimes his attacks aren't as powerful when he means to create something more intense.
If he were to overuse his power in rapid succession, Garrett would be become exhausted to the point where he would need time before he could use his powers again. Attacks with a higher intensity drain more of his energy than short bursts of his smoke ability.
His confidence and willingness to join a fight he never asked for may not be favorable to those looking to him for help for anything Deviant related.
What is their personality like?
Garrett isn't proud of being a deviant and will show it in his willingness to partake in certain actions. In all actuality, he wants to live a normal life away from powers, madmen, vigilantes and so on; even if that means working behind a desk for another decade or two. If it finds some benefit in the matter he will assist but veers from menial tasks and objectives.
While preferring to keep out of abnormal situations to the best of his ability, Garrett wouldn't stand by and watch someone or a group of people get hurt. Ex: Publicly harassed, attacked, abused. He's very headstrong about his ideals and mannerisms. When he'll often use sarcasm, it's usually just him trying to deflect from a situation he feels uncomfortable about.
What is their backstory?
Garrett's life was supposed to be normal. Maybe a little too normal for most, but he liked it that way. He got through high school no problem, decent grades here and there and had a decent adolescent life. The problem most people saw in him is that he never had any long term goals. He never reached for success in life which hindered him greatly as he transitioned into adulthood. The only job he could land was filing papers and make reports for some company that he really didn't care about. At such a young age and plenty of time to correct his current life, why was he comfortable with such a mundane and repetitive situation? Simple, he hated being a Deviant.
Garrett never asked for the powers that basically labeled him a menace to society. He never asked for them to show up in the blink of an eye when he was seventeen and he sure as hell never asked for them to almost ruin his life completely but he didn't like to talk about that much. With everything happening in the world, he just wanted to be like everyone else: normal. Without powers, without this looming sense of responsibility like he should be out there doing something about a long and hard fought battle that he felt obligated to be apart of just because he had abilities like the rest of them. From the few people he's told, they all believe strongly that he's wasting his life away not standing up against what they all believe is horrible. Of course, none of them have powers and are fighting for the side that doesn't want the Dominion pushing them around. A deviant to fight the deviants? Sounds like it'd be some sick gladiator arena television show.
Currently Garrett lives modestly and at best, gets by with the money he makes from his job. He doesn't talk to very many people, outside of his parents every so often and co-workers he's developed some sort of bond with. Though the less people know about the real him, the better.
