New York would serve as the battlefield, where one side—consisting of Providence, anti-deviant forces who saw them as the lesser of two evils, and various volunteers to their cause—engaged the Dominion. While the battle was won by the Dominion, it only strengthened Providence’s resolve, and city after city became a battlefield. In some countries, deviants rose up to overthrow their governments and join the Dominion, while those who didn’t found themselves with Providence. A rare few remain neutral, but the conflict has grown into a full-scale war.
