What are their powers/abilities?
Jaxon possesses the ability to bodily generate thermo-chemical energy and release it from his skin. This energy is used as thrust to cause his body to be propelled through the air, like his namesake, at great heights and speeds with considerable maneuverability. He can control his speed and direction through sheer act of will. At first he could only release this energy from his feet, but now he can fire it from almost any part of his body, to a wide variety of effects, such as channeling it into thermo-chemical blasts from his hands.
Blast Field: This energy also manifests itself as an impenetrable and virtually indestructible "blast field." In actuality, this "indestructability" lies in the fact that the Thermo-Chemical energy is extremely hot that it is capable of melting through most known substances, Diamond like material especially. He can use this blast-field to function as a personal shield or extending it to encompass others, shape the field around another person to imprison them, or absorb outside pyrokinetic based substances impact into his own energy supply and then re-channel it to increase the bludgeoning power of his blows or create explosive shock waves upon impact. Sam is also capable of generating the blast field without actually having to blast off, though it takes him extreme concentration to prevent himself from propelling into the air
Superhuman Durability: When he is using his superhuman powers, Jaxon possesses superhuman durability due to the energy field that forms around his body, the extreme amount of heat capable of burning through almost anything, diamonds being able to withstand one fully charged impact from him alone.
Immunity to Thermo-Chemical Energy: It takes a great deal to dish this kind of power out and a great deal to be immune to it. Jaxon does not burn up from this as he's pushing it, except for probably his clothes, making him immune to it if it were placed into the hands of someone capable of absorbing and redirecting it back towards him.
Do they have any notable weaknesses?
The major weakness is that he has to generate enough Thermo-Chemical energy to propulse and therefore utilize his powers to the fullest of abilities.
Trajectory: Both a blessing and a curse. He is not flying, therefore a Telekinetic or anyone known would suffer a huge strain in trying to get him to deter from his trajected path. Likewise, he himself is unable to change the path he propulses out towards, ricocheting instead when he propulses backwards to operate like a rocket's throttle going in verse to change pattern. However, he can be stopped from taking off, preventing such a thing from ever occurring. If a stronger individual however, is capable of withstanding these extreme amounts of concentrated heat, they can essentially stop him.
Water or Ice: A huge amount of it is needed to make a difference as he's literally burning through most known substances. Too little results in a steamy aftermath, which the heat from that alone can power him further when he's absorbing to power his own Thermo-Chemical field.
A telepath could also probe his mind, but the same thing applies: They have to catch him before because it would be too late to do anything the second he takes off at blinding speed.
What is their personality like?
Young, Wild and Free defines him at the most. He's a jokester who likes to have a good time, but can get very serious when he has to. That means he's a hothead, but a goodhearted one. He values equality regardless of any race, gender and of course power. Those without order or accountability can get out of hand and they need to understand the value of all life thereof. Those who cannot or solely believe one is better than the other are in need of an attitude change. When he has something worth protecting, he's entitled to get a little reckless to protect them.
What is their backstory?
He was in the Air Force when his powers manifested. Ironically,
they triggered as a result of various flight tests to determine when he could potentially fall unconscious. With his powers, further tests were then implemented, showing not just an increase to the rate of which he could withstand certain mach speeds, but also the matter of him being able to take off like the jets he piloted, or well, a Rocket. Aeronautics in the military trained him to be the best in most of his abilities, but Providence may have held better chances for him to advance for his powers and to clearly use it for the greater good. Those were his intentions at least, until the hit to Sacramento occurred.
Being born and raised there, such a hit struck him hard. Such reckless care for others to prove a point struck a nerve and upon returning from the tour overseas, he checked in on his family. A few injuries asides, Sacramento was recovering properly, but his issues were far from over. The soldier left for New York, where the other Providence HQ resided, looking to join and put an end to these blindly conceived notions.
