His power grants him the ability to 'split' the world into two timelines and then collapse the timeline he likes less whenever he wants. He can never have more than two, but he shares information across the two timelines in real time.
This power allows him to attempt different courses of action regarding a situation and then pick the timeline he wants to keep while retaining all knowledge from the other timeline. Much of his real world success ultimately hinges on this ability to create feed-forward loops; being able to test his plans in different permutations before acting upon them. Time moves forward in his realities regardless of what he does, this limits what he can actually do in a specific timeline. Essentially, he splits time into two different timelines, chooses the one he likes more, collapses the other one, and keeps all the info from it.
Do they have any notable weaknesses?
His power is limited in that he only gains information through his senses in each timeline. He's also just a dude with a neat power. Bullets seem to be a large weakness of his.
What is their personality like?
Destiny is the golden standard of a man with a plan. His power allows him to have information not readily available to others, allowing him to extrapolate a wealth of possibilities and conclusions. He always seems to know something that everyone else doesn't. His power has has given him a sense of hubris, but also a massive amount of paranoia.
What is their backstory?
James Calvert was born into an upper middle class family in Washington DC, needless to say, he didn't have a hard life. James became "attuned" to his power very early in his life, and used it to maximize his experience in school. The day before a big test, he'd split the timeline, steal the answer key, memorize it, then collapse that timeline. He flew through grade school, his undergrad, medical, and law school. James became a very wealthy, powerful, and influential person incredibly rapidly, later joining up with providence. His paranoia led him to buying off a telepath that'd be conducting his interview to provide false information on his file.
When asked about his power, he provided them with only a half truth. He told them that he could "Manipulate Destiny". and used his power to 'force' a coin to land heads four times in a row. The person conducting the interview was seemingly dumbfounded and called people around providence to come verify that he wasn't manipulating the coin somehow. Among those sent to verify were Mister Black, Dr. Augustine, and Carmen Write. None of them could figure out how we was doing so.
