They'd spent what felt like ages in the Koti lands, a wonderful haven where neither felt shunned for what they were, or pressure for who they were. Osoi, being a hybrid, had faced a lot in the lands beyond the border. She'd been chased by full-blooded lions, scorned by full-blooded cheetahs, and bullied by full-blooded leopards. Granted, there were those who stood out in all the categories as good animals. She'd birthed a litter, proving to her that she was fertile, that had been sired by a charming enough lion. Another to stand out was, of course, Arlette.

Who was watching her stare off into space. Osoi blinked at the cheetah, "Huh?"

The cheetah laughed, a smile spreading across her petite face, "You're lost in thought again, aren't you?" She could tell just when Osoi got lost in her thoughts. Part of her was still hesitant to confess it, but that's just how mates functioned. They just knew. Osoi, of course, knew when Arlette got lost in her own thoughts, lost in memories of the coalition she'd been born to, the important position she'd been expected to take. She had been trained for a position of leadership, and yet... Here she was. Where she'd rather be, in a home of her own making. "What are you thinking about this time?"

Osoi let out a hum, looking away for a moment, before shaking the powder-blue mane out of her face. "Just... This and that." She then offered the cheetah a smile, "How'd I get so lucky with you, Arlette?"

Chozi was out and about today. He felt good, and that was a blessing all on its own. His body didn't ache and the persistant cough he had been carrying about was few and far between. He even had energy! While on days like this, he often explored beyond the borders of the pride, he felt very much like a homebody today.

He'd woken curled next to a few of his children and a few of the Orja that clung to the edges of his family, it was a nice little wake up. He needed to stretch his legs, though, and talking to those beyond his family line was always a good way to start.

One ear flicked before the other did, and Arlette turned her head. "Oh, look, we have company!" From knowing Osoi, she could see the distinctness of a hybrid. She also knew, of course, that it was one of the older members of the coalition, Chozi, between how long they'd been there by then and just... Pure notoriety for how much of a genetic impact he'd made already to the coalition. He was, in short, something of a legend to the pair. "How are you feeling today, sir?"

It was still interesting, to Osoi, to meet other cheetons who could have children. All her life growing up, she'd heard that hybrids like her couldn't have cubs, they couldn't give life like they'd been given. They were genetic dead ends, where family lines went to die, or failed to branch. Even after she'd raised a litter, she still heard it. So being here, being in a place full of hybrids with some of them able to have or sire cubs, was a wonderful thing to her. She watched Chozi, humming lightly. "Looking better than yesterday, that's certain." She tilted her head, frowning a bit. "How long has that cough plagued you, by chance...?"

Chozi gave a gentle smile to the pair. He was getting older, he felt, and with illness he felt as if he had aged lifetimes in mere weeks. Still, it was nice to get out. Sometimes, he'd tell Alue about his days, and about the members she had met. His daughter couldn't meet everyone, after all, even as she rose up to lead the pride.

"Better, I feel the illness might go away soon..." Of course, he could get worse again - it had happened in the past, and could happen again in the future. "It has been quite some time since the illness started."

He hoped it would go away soon.

"What are the pair of you up to, today?" He asked, instead, attempting to shift the focus off of himself.
