He can freely control the strings as long as the base is still connected to his person. Given enough time he weave the string into an object he or others may need. i.e a rope.

A calm, cool, proper and collected man. He's very methodical and does things only in a way that makes sense. That's how he was raised. Level-headed and calculating. He's always had to be. He doesn't raise his voice nor does he interupt. He is respectful and polite, but does catch and attitude. Rarely.
What is their backstory?
From a long line of Mayflower's he carries on the significance of the name. The pioneers in the underfround world of Deviants. The first Mafia/Assassination family. Jesse was among the more talented of his lineage. Killing his first target at the age of 6 near flawessly. He's, soon, to lead his family in the underworld to obtain more power and influence. After years and years of training, stealing, killing, blackmailing he made his way up the ladder in the underworld making a name for himself past being a Mayflower. He decided it was time for him and his family to make a name for his family in the overworld as well. With all the commotion between Providence and the Dominion it was becoming a bit more... trying to focus on his tasks at hand. He decided to give his closest underling control of things as he walked into the light of the overworld. With much research done on his part, he decided to side with Providence. The way they did things was opposite to the way he was used to. Which is the side he wanted to understand to make his name "above ground." To obtain power on top and bottom. Putting and end to the war, earning fame, continuing his family's work; that was the plan.
