Free PridelandersThere is no time limit or end date to this as this thread is a permanent fixture for the Pridelands.
The Pridelands is meant to be an accepting place that anyone may join. To help facilitate new and old members seeking to join the pride, all users may claim up to two free Pridelander semi-customs. Just take some time to read up on the pridal information to familiarize yourself with it before posting.
These are completely up to you - name, rank, history, and all! You're welcome to collaborate with others to create families, relationships, etc.
 Restrictions in place:
All Pridelanders obtained from this thread may not leave the pride.
You may post as many forms as you'd like, but you may only receive two.
All Pridelanders given away will be an adult lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog, or hyena.
You are allowed to request stock edits that modify the mane.
They may be any standard rank. Limited, special, and royal ranks are off-limits.
They will be TLK-marked (over and under eyes, mouth, belly, toes) with very minimal differences. The addition of extra gradients, back stripes, and leg markings are all done at my discretion.
You will need to post any SoA received from this thread in the Joining & Updates thread for final approval.

Character Background/Personality: A lion who only speaks rarely, Kimya is silent on his paws. He's always been this way, even as a cub, rarely crying but instead just along for the ride of whatever his siblings were up to. He didn't much like the roguelands, though his family very much preferred the nomadic life, so as soon as he was able to he struck out to find a pride to join. It so happened to be the Pridelands, where he found he could seamlessly fit in and blend with the crowd. He's found being a scout suits him quite well, as it lets him be as silent as he likes to keep track of any who might cause problems.

Character Background/Personality: Mkondo, along with her littermates, was born somewhere in the roguelands near a seasonal source of water. Many of them were named for the area, from the grass(Nyasi), the bushes their mother used as a den(Kichaka), and even the weather(Upepo - It was a bit windy). At some point, Mkondo broke off from her family and moved to the Pridelands, joining not too long after Tau officially became king. She's mostly enjoyed living in the pride since, watching cubs and helping hunt when there are no cubs to watch. In all, she has a pleasant outlook on life and doesn't personally seek conflict.

Character Background/Personality: A bit of a frustrated artist, Sikiza knows she likes to be creative, but she hasn't quite pinned down how she likes to create yet. She's tried singing, dancing, and crafting wearable pelts and jewelry, but nothing seems right yet. Her latest endeavor, sketching and painting with pigments she's mixed from berries and plants, seems to be faring better, but only time will tell if she'll stick with it or move on to something else entirely.

Character Background/Personality: Malikuu was born into the pride and has enjoyed its community and sense of belonging since he was young, and has no intention of ever leaving. He's a courteous male, well-mannered and a bit of a flirt to boot. Mal is very diligent in his duty as a messenger and will stop at nothing to ensure every message gets to where it's supposed to go. Listening to any juicy gossip along the way, is just a bonus.

Lelise was born and raised in a nomadic band of desert dwellers. The importance of knowledge and understanding the world in which they lived and hunted was imparted early, as was their role in helping to sustain and encourage the balance of nature. Lelise took in all of these teachings and took them with her when she became of age to finding her own niche in the world. Her family and the nomads would always be her folk, she knew the tricks and signs to find them should she need or wish to.
Most of her venturing was solo, though the occasional run ins she had with rogues or affiliated nomadic bands kept her from feeling lonely. Her upbringing and training helped prepare her for much of what she may have encountered. She did well in her wanderings, until she had a run-in with a few especially aggressive hyenas. It had been a vicious fight and she did get away, but not without help. A further ranging Pridelander scout and their trailing guard had heard the commotion and drove away or dealt with the remaining attackers. Injured, nigh exhausted, and alone, the pair had to do a bit of convincing for the stubborn lioness to agree to go with them to get looked at by a healer. Shock did a lot to help her walk most of the way back, until began to wear off and exhaustion was threatening to take her. She collapsed, drifting in and out of consciousness. Her rescuers were able to get her seen and taken care off. Her healing took some time with an infection that tried settling in, but she was brought back to full health with the careful tending of the Prideland healers. She owed the pride her life. They didn't have to take her back, provide care and offer up their resources while she was sick and healing. It wasn't exactly a difficult decision to offer or ask to stay, to pledge her help and life to the betterment of the whole, but it did tug at her heartstrings that she'd likely never see her nomadic kith and kin again. It was definitely a change, but the lioness was ever keen on adjusting to the environments she found herself in. This was no different, besides their circle of life was not dissimilar to her own upbringing.
Lelise can seem, at first blush, a distant or odd seeming lioness. She has an intense, sort of searching gaze as though she's trying to pick apart a puzzle in front of her, reading clues and cues from those around her, coupled with her having some habits and mannerisms practically etched into her bones from her upbringing, she has an unmistakable bearing of one who came from a different background. She's not unfriendly once approached and has been known to be playful or cheeky when at ease and and rest. Still, she's a lioness of her word and has chosen to help provide for the residents of the Pridelands as a hunter, relishing in the odd visit with the nannies to help teach hunting and survival basics to the young ones in their keeping. Insistent as she is to serve and protect her new pride, mostly when the pride is well fed and if it'd otherwise shift the balance of the lands around them, she occasionally assists with scouting when she's able.

Obi is a warm, friendly lion who has spent years fine tuning his skills and understanding to better serve as an artisan for anyone who may have need of him or his services. He's very mindful of himself, those around him, and his surroundings, trusting in his instincts and abilities to read others, to read whatever situation he may find himself in.
At the very core of him, Obi doesn't want to demand anything of anyone. He feels respect and one's confidence should be earned, and given freely. He simply wishes to try his best to do what he can to help others along way. Even bringing a small amount of peace or happiness to someone is a worthwhile endeavor to the lion, one that brings him no small amount of gratification.

Character Background/Personality: Skafos is kind of a creepy sort. Not maliciously so! In fact unless provoked he wouldn't hurt a fly -- but he does like death and dead bones. Skafos is the first born son of two pride members -- Eris and Melhor Pax -- but while both parents are members, Skafos was born on a hunting trip[ oytside of pride territories and got seperated. Instead of being adopted by just anyone, Skagos was found by the Goddess of Treasure and raised with love and affection -- albeit a little overencouraged to look into habbies. Skafos? Skafos got into collecting and wearing boners, much enjoying the appearance of a grim spectre of death. He finds odd, dark things beautiful -- from his mother's side -- but he's generally friendly and agreeable -- that's Dad's side. Kabi, listening to him speak of his parents growing up, led the adult pile of disasterous Life Cgoices to the Pridelands, based on his descriptions and gregmented memories, and then vamoosed. Adjusting has not been easy. Skafos gets along swimmingly with Daddy Melhow. Wonderfully, even!.... Skafos and his mother constantly fight, and he is leery of Ate. Skafos wishes Eris would just LET GO of not being considered for the throne, as she was Kiuma's granddaughter (And thus Royal line. Fine times.), but Skafos honestly has no interest in the throne of the pridelands. All Skafos wanys is to collect bones and to maybe collects furs of dead things. Perfectly harmless -- he likes the look and feel of furs and bones just look neat. Is he cool yet?
- Skafos' personality is basically Smol Pansexual goth dude. Very Soft Boy unless provoked, then murderboy. Much fluff, very dote.

Character Name: Zenos

Character Background/Personality: Zenos was born far from the Pridelands. This is obvious. But less obvious is why he came to the Pridelands, excepting, perhapoos, to cope with his own bloodline and thoughts.
Zenos, on his father's side, is the son of Galvus, the God of Instability. His mother, a mortal lioness whom is far more instable than Galvus and whom hunts males, literally, to eat them. Zenos was not raised by Lillith -- when a single cub was born and it was male, Lillith immediately abandoned her son, finding no use for the little newborn, and he was quickly discovered by many of the demons, and thus, taken to his grandparents, Primitus and Hakuna'jina, as Galvus' response was terror at not helping with his son's birth. Zenos... Tried. He tried so hard to be 'good'. He even formed a loving bond with his father, moving to his side as an adolescent, but, as is wont with his father's domain, Zenos possessed unstable seer visions, and they haunted him, telling to him threats and warnings of his mother's bloodline, his mother's goals, whispers of death and monsters, and finally, Zenos withdrew, becoming exceedingly hostile and defensive to all but his grandparents and father. and unstable like his mother so long as he was plagued, Zenos fled into the roguelands in the night.
Away from his homelands, his mind calmed. HJis visions, less wild and unpredictable -- less horrific and haunting. Still, the damage was done, and looking for a place to simply... disappear, Zenos came to the pridelands for peace of mind and to indulge in his ytrue passion -- hunting. Zenos, n apex predator and keen to scent blood, is a fantastic hunter. It gives him joy, it gives him purpose, and he can hunt alone, never dealing with the petty horrors he once envisioned. Zenos is incredibly astute and intelligent, and often reads others with attentiveness. He is not the most social, finding small talk and idle chitter about simple things boring and pointless, much preferring topics like philosophy, hunting, legends, hunting, the state of the pride and if a spare paw is needed to help guard, and philosophy and hunting. Zenos is selective of whom he likes, and he is also very possessive of those he cares for, to a fault. Zenos will kill to defend his chosen companions, chosen family -- anyone he cares for benefits from his teeth and claws. He is, like Galvus, a massive lion, and enjoys frightening and messing with creatures he doesn't know or respect for the giggles. He's also... Well not really a threat, but generally, he's happy giving the majority of the pride space... Although surprisingly he enjoys teaching or helping some improve hunting or lean to hunt. He might be awkward with cubs but he is happy to tolerate them climbing all over him. Give him a cubpile and he still tries being regal, it's amazing.

Character Background/Personality: Eos is almost a perfect twin of his brother Syris. Golden eyed Eops isn't sure if he or Syris are older, nor does he give five craps and a bird dookie. Eos is an artistic soul whom likes it spooky and dark, being equivalent to a human goth, and he likes working with his paws, his brother, checking out pretty creatures, learning, and generally not dealing with horse-dookie. He has a low tolerance for things he calls stupid, but he's not antisocial. In fact, sometimes, he won't shut uop. It just means he is a master of bonking someone with his paw when he's 'slapping them smart'. Eos is a little insecure and anxious, with an intense rejection sensitivity that makes him, well, easy to distress and convince him someone doesn't like him or that he's a bother, even if he's not. Eos and his brother Cyrus used to travel with their father Arkeios, however the rains brought a flash flood that seperated them from him, and knowing he was alive seeing him claw his way onto another shore, the duo decided to find a home and pride, hoping one day their father might find them and rejoin them.

Character Background/Personality: Syris is Eos' twin, and nobody knows whom is older, not even them. Maybe their father. However, they're not perfect twins. Syris looks like Eos with different eyes, and he's a bit larger than Eos. Syris is affectionate and protective of his sibling, ever worried something might happen to them both, and he dislikes feeling alone. The one exception is hunting, when Syris is perfectly fine in a group or by himself -- he doesn't really care. Syris likes bringing Eos things for his ctrafting, and he's very gentle and soft spoken -- the softer of the pair of lions, but he's not necissarily harmless. Eos bonks like a cat. Syris is prepared to defend if need be, however he's less judgemental -- do not harm Eos and you do fine. Syris and his brother once roamed with their father, Arkeios, but in the rainy season, the boys were sepetrated from their father by a flash flood. Syris was injured dragging Eos through the most active period, being a stronger swimmer -- although both males love to swim -- and needed a place to stop. After seeing their father emerge on the other shore, Eos and Syris decided to join the Pridelands and wait, hoping their father might someday join them. Syris has far less social anxiety than Eos, and when together, sometimes, Syris may speak for both of them.
