Thoughts of Useless :: Technology
Via developing and revolutionizing technology, things can only really get worse from here.

Technology is grand; refreshed gadgetry with practical function, made for convinience and decoration, used for creation and destruction of all things inanimate and animate.

Man dreams of flying cars, robot servants, houses with interactive awareness and all kinds of whimsical things like that. Mostly to make life seem more fun and convinient, which of course is the main drive for all commercial and domestic technology.

But I think this continual, blind drive for improvement, of bettering something - as in a natural human compulsion -...to me it seems like a boom going to end in a horrific or dreadful bust.

Just like with economy; we discovered how to make things better, we keep improving, everything is going splendid, then suddenly it's all gone due to the speed in which the interconnected activity is moving, the demand, and the natural likelyhood of a glitch in the chain at some point.

Things becoming so convinient, to make things so easy...meaning will be sucked out from that thing.

I was tekteking just now, trying to get a good look for my avatar, when I absentmindedly wondered what it'd be like if the fashion industry had something like tektek. What if you could download your figure onto a touchscreen and begin to build a look from a digital catalogue? It means less time shopping for clothes because you know where to get it and what you want, and maybe by then we have instanteneous delivery. Sounds great right?

But then where will the fashion designers be? Where will the people who experiment will all manners of materials and fabrics, patchworking them together on a mannequin? Redundant probably; an artform dead. Maybe it'll be replaced by digital designers, but the substance is lost. There's so little hands-on work, manual passion.

And I think such development of technology will condemn alot of society, not just industries or places of work for humanity.
