Kuroba Kaito decided to become the Kaitou Kid after discovering that his father's death was a murder by a mysterious organization. He is trying to bring them out of hiding by stealing the a gem which creates a strange liquid once every ten years that causes the drinker to become immortal. He wants to destroy this gem.
