Streams of molten lava poured down Main Street and smoke soon blanketed the city. A general evactuation was sounded, with stranded residents in critical danger evacuated by light aircraft that struggled into the air to bear their precious cargo to safety. In the aftermath the once proud Metro City, reduced to rubble, would be known as the Volcanic Disaster Zone.
