All I could think of was getting us to safety. Every heartbeat, every breathe, The Hunter gets closer. I prayed that he would just leave us at peace. With LinLin dangling around me, I hid behind bamboo. Just seeing it reminded me of how long I was running... I could hear the hunter getting closer... slowing down. He quietly walked passed where we were hiding... just 10 feet from us. Finally, he passed.
"Ma... Are we safe yet?" as LinLin whispered close to me.
