Many folktales tell the story of a beautiful goddess that inhabits the moon with her pet rabbit. As she weaves the blanket that we know as "the night sky", the goddess' rabbit toils to create the elixir of life. On a clear night, if one looks hard enough, one can see the silhouette of a rabbit on the surface of the moon, serving his lustrous mistress and, just maybe, gazing back at you.
