• Artist Info: These months grow longer with every night I don't hear your voice.
The rain can pound the silence from the room, but never from my head.
The proverbial heart takes much too much credit for what actually goes on inside my chest.
This cardiac arrest is due to the erratic skipping of the heaving muscle that jumps at the sound of that three-letter phrase,
and honestly, all those nights that sleep fails to find me solely because I hope that every time I blink, I'll look to find you there beside me, is tiring.
The simple fact of the matter is that I'm losing this fight
along with my sanity.
My heart,
my proverbial one, that is,
is losing hope in finding a way back into your arms.
Every plot event in my life seems to take a twist,
a turn to NeverNeverLand.
I'll never get to touch your lips again,
never get to hold you in my sleep.
Are you even real?
Or did I make you up in some sick attempt to feel some kind of emotion other than self-pity?
I have all those pictures of us,
burned into my memory.
They are proof of your existence.
But the rain pours harder with every drop in my confidence,
and I pour my proverbial heart out into journals and onto notebook paper,
trying to redeem myself for the bitterness I showed the world before you appeared.
The wipers on my eyes are out of order,
and the tears flow at any given moment that my brain surges with the thoughts about those foggy mornings and rainy nights that are supposed to begin and end with you, but don't.
I lie here every night,
the silence beaten out of the house by the rain that never penetrates my thoughts of you...
And the phrase comes to me shortly before my drift into sleep and NeverNeverLand
