There was once a wolf, hidden beneath the skin of man, This wolf was weighed down by the skin. His fur covered in dirt, he only shed his skin to bathe, and he only bathed by the river. The Earth discolored his fur, what was actually grey, seemed black. His loneliness turned his heart black. He was sick, diagnosed with a broken heart. By the river, he saw a flash of blue fluttering, hovering, floating, just above his eyes. He watched it sail. Beyond the river. The river in which he ran through. His fur now silver, looking as if he was a speeding bullet. The wolf could see that this blue light was a Blue Bird. This blue bird was tiny, but the effect she had on his heart was enormous. There was a fire in his bones, She had a joy in her heart. A chase. The wolf took a snip at her wings, but she laughed and swooped out of the range of teeth. She landed on his back and sung into his ear.
He sat still with her. His heart never stopping motion. She was a fever, his loneliness ate at her fire. Branded by her wings, he was never the same when she was forced away by the winds. Now By the river, under the moon, waiting for her. He roams the wideness in sight of her. He stares at the sun, reminiscent of her. For he will never feel the same till she is back.
