Hello, I'm the Avi Critic. I'm just a regular ol' Gaia user that hasn't been logged on in ages. Since I have another account I use more, I don't think about this one ever. Whoops. But, I think I'll use this one along with my other one more often.

I love looking at avatars in the cosplay arena, sometimes the original arena, and like to give helpful hints on how to improve other users work. I usually have nice things to comment on and I occasionally respond to other people's comments regarding something.

Well, I have a few "Do's and Dont's" I think should be followed if you post in the arena, for both the submitters and the critics. These are all based on things I've seen and/or experienced in the arenas over the last few years (i.e. these are all my opinion, not the offical rules of the arena). These lists will probably get updated every so often if I think of something else or need to elaborate on something.

Do's and Don'ts- Submitters
Cosplay arena:
~Submit cosplays that have reference pictures
~Provide said reference pictures, regardless if the character/thing is known or not
-How can they accurately rate your work if you don't provide a reference? They should not have to look it up themselves and won't in most cases.
-You will be "Auto 1'd" if there is no reference by many people.
-USE THE DIRECT LINK IF YOU USE PHOTOBUCKET PICTURES. If it doesn't work, put the url in the desccription box. It's better than nothing.
~Provide descriptions of the character/thing
-i.e. not "I think this character is soooooo cool thats why i did him/her". Just no.
-Don't say how much you spent on your cosplay or if you're on a budget. No one will care.
~Be polite to your critics if they are offering advice on what to improve on.
-Rude submitters are sometimes downrated based on attitude. So, just grit your pixelled teeth about it, or ignore it ,or disable the comments from the get-go if you think you can't take it.
-Do not go to a commentor's profile and bitch them out for offering their opinion on something. It's not worth either of your time.
~For any sort of vampire cosplay, do NOT use the vampire skin. It's gross looking and people will comment about it many times.
~DO NOT USE COMPLETE SETS. It's a pretty lazy thing to do even though it will be "accurate". You are better off trying to make combos with items instead.
~Do not use "I was on a budget" as an excuse for anything. You can make something either amazing or something awful on budgets. You just have to take the time and effort to make it work.
~Do have fun! What's the point of submitting if you can't have fun in the process?

Do's and Don'ts - Commenters/Critics
Cosplay and Original Arena:
~Do be respectful to all.
~Do offer helpful tips for improving something.
-If possible, use the name of the item/hairstyle/eye style. If not, use key words to describe it. It would help them more in the end.
~Do not troll. Plain and simple; it is annoying.
~Try not to argue with others. We all have different opinions and some are bound to not agree with you on something.
~Do not call anyone names, regardless of the situation you seem to be in
-This includes but is not limited to: loser, stupid, dumb, asshole, and bitch.
~Why make yourself look like a jerk? Just keep it to yourself.
