• Chapter One:
One cold november night I had my first teen greif meeting for the loss of my twin brother. Everyone had said this would make it better, but it terrified me. Having to say my feelings outloud was something I knew that I couldn't bear. No one could help.
When I got to the meeting, I was suprised to see one of my classmates sitting in the room, looking distant. I sat across from him on the floor of the semi-circle.
Alec had just recently lost his dad. The last family he had. Alec told the group he was going to an orphanage since he was only 16 years old. I was supposed to speak after him, but my tears and humiliation at crying in front of him made it so I could not speak.
When the meeting was over, he was the first one out of the building. I was quick to follow. To tell him that i was sorry to hear about his dad. But when I got out the door he had vanished, as if the shadows had ate him up. I stared at bothe sides of the street dumbfounded. but I knew I didn't want to go home, so I just started walking toward Alec's manor without conciously knowing it. I just let my feet lead the way.
After walking for a couple of miles, I found my self completeley lost. I tried looking for signs but it looked like I was in one of those middle-of-freaking-no-where places we get told about with the creepy guys in abandoned building.
There was a blizzard to be raging above my head, I knew I had to get shelter fast. I scanned the hillside with my unusually good vision. I found a manor up on a hill. It looked like the one Alec's school profile said was his house. I started up the steep climb.
When I was half way up something or someone clamped their hands over my mouth and put a coat over me, I didnt have one at the time.
"Are you crazy!" Said the voice I recognized. "You could get your self killed out here! We better get you inside."
I finally then realized how really and truthfully cold I was. I passed out in his arms.
Amazingly, Alec was able to cary me up to his manor with the wind raging about like a maniac. When I woke up I was on his couch, and was glaring sourly at me. I couldn't say anything. I was tongue-tied. His face was perfect, he was a goth God. I looked away, feeling myself blush a deep crimson.
"What the hell were you doing here?" Alec asked.
"I needed to talk to you and y...y...you disappeared..." I said, stuttering in fear. He looked at me with softer eyes. Feeling my panic at his appalling anger.
"Listen, I'm sorry. I know it's hard for you. But why the hell do you wanna talk to me?" He asked, sincerely. I was at a loss for words. He just glared at me and laughed harshly. "You're just like all the other girls. Come to see where the vampire lives, eh?"
I was horrified, "who in there right minds would do that! I came here because I have a crush on you." By the time I realized my mistake, Alec was staring at me in awe.
"How? How can you like me? Me! Of all people." He was acting like it was impossible. I was crying really hard at this point. He looked over at me for the answer and saw that I was crying. He came over and did something that took my breathe away.
    He kissed me.
"So you like me?" I asked, bewildered.
Alec chuckled. "Like you? Victoria, I love you. I always have."
"I noticed you staring at me alot this past year but I never thought that you would, or even could, like me." I smiled brightly.
When the storm had blown over, he told me to get my coat and shoes on so he could drive me home. Alec kissed me one more time and went to find the keys. When I stood up, I passed out.
When Alec got back, he found me on the floor, uncouncious. He picked me up and dashed to the car. He didnt bother to call an ambulance he just drove me at 90 miles per hour to the hospital. When we got there they whisked me away without giving Alec a second glance.
About a half an hour of waiting, I fianlly came to. As soon as he was allowed, he ran to my room. "What was it? What happened to you?" He asked, getting all panicky.
"It was a fever of unknown orgin. All better now, see?" I picked his hand up and put it on my forhead. Alec sighed with releif. He bent down and kissed me. "You scared the hell out of me. I dont want to lose my girlfriend."
    "Girlfriend? Really?" I smiled.
He looked at me like I was insane. "Duh! You think I am gonna let you get away from me?" I laughed. "I like the sound of your laugh." Alec murmered. I blushed a deep red colour. He laughed.
Then, caught up in the moment, he kissed me again.
when he drove me home, all he said was, "Good night. I'll pick you up for school in the morning at eight. I love you."
