• .: 7 Years Ago :.

I sat down in the city of New York, 9-11-01. I wasn't too close to the Twin Towers at the time, but my mom pointed towards the direction of the two towers. This was the worst vacation EVER. As I watched the towers fall, I showed no emotion at all. I wasn't scared. I wasn't sad. There was no feeling, but everyone around just seemed to scream and run. Maybe I was stupid. Maybe I just didn't get the joke.

I was only five years old, and I thought of a building falling to be cool. But now..NOW, I find it as a very big loss.

    .: Now :.

After five years, I'm now twelve years old. I learned about emotions while growing up; obviously. Also, I have a strange ability to see what normal people would call 'Spirits'. My name is Ryu, and I use my ability to help the spirits.

    .: At Home :.

Ryu sighed, sitting in his room. He was currently watching his favorite television show, ' Total Drama Island'. His laughter could be heard from just outside of the room. Someone knocked on his door, Ryu slowly getting up and answering the door.

His mom stood in front of the door, “ How was school?” The woman asked; he had gotten back from school around an hour ago. Molly, his mom, had just gotten back from work. With Ryu's dad gone since 9/11, she's had to work.

His dad had died in one of the twin towers, going into the tower to talk to someone inside. Although, he never came out because as soon as he stepped on the second floor, the twin towers were already falling down. The building crushed him completely, and Ryu hasn't forgiven himself over his father's death.

Ryu sighed, “It..was okay..” He nodded, looking towards his mother in anxiety. Molly blinked, “The bully didn't get you again today, well..that's good..” She also seemed distressed. They were both pretty sad about Ryu's father still. Molly walked out of the room, going back to the kitchen downstairs.

Ryu's eyes trailed to the bed as he moaned lightly. He walked downstairs after leaving his room and shutting the door. “Mom, I'm going to the mall..Okay?” Molly blinked, looking towards him, “It's fine with me.”

Ryu walked out of the house, going to the garage to get his scooter and leave. He rode his scooter just up the road, parking it and chaining it next to the mall so no one could steal it. Sighing, he walked inside, “The mall..” Ryu said, walking in. He passed one of his father's favorite stores, and suddenly stopped. His eyes trailed over to the closed store, which had metal bars come down from the top of the door.

    “Da...D..Dad?”
