• Prelude: How It All Began

    "You may choose any, and as many weapons as you want.
    Beware though, choose wrong, and it will cost you your, and your loved ones' lives"

    Zero: "Damn. Well..you heard the ominous voice..we have to be very
    careful."
    Hunter: "Or we can take as many fricking weapons as we want..
    But hurry man..we're in crunch time here.."
    "Yeah I know..I rather make it careful than a drag tho.."
    They argued as both approached a table filled with massive amounts of weapons, ranging from a glorious looking gladius, to an imposing laser rifle.
    "OMG!..This is weapon heaven man..I can't believe all this stuff..

    "Wow..This IS pretty impressive..I have no idea what to choose"

    "Simple..go with whatever you're more proficient...
    Be careful and choose correctly..whatever is coming up won't give you a chance to mess up..."

    Finally, after some extensive rummaging, they were set up to take on anything.

    "Is that really all you're taking?..you seem under-equipped...
    Only a dagger and those 2 guns.."

    "HA!..and you're utterly over-equipped..I barely got anything left for me.
    Besides..this is plenty to take on whatever comes up."

    "I sure hope you're right"

    "Me too..anyways..time to get serious"

    Zero said as they both walked towards the towering door separating them from a safe retreat, and what could end in a soul shattering defeat. And gripping their weapons they moved into the darkness...



    Chapter 1 : Sacrifice

    *pants* Man slow down!..
    I warned ya, you carried too much on you..we can't stop now...
    Dang..even after dropping almost all that stuff I'm getting exhausted..
    LOOK OUT!
    *ROAR*
    A flash of bright yellow filled the room making a *swoosh* sound, followed by a pained groan and a *thud*
    *shivers* Thanks man..they keep creeping out on me..this damned shadows.
    Keep your eyes peeled..can't afford losing you right now...
    Yeah..I know..I won't last if i don't rest a little tho.
    Fine then..catch your breath..I'll co..
    Another flash, this time a thud and the booming sound of the wall giving under the pressure.
    Shi.. I'll cover ya

    I guess you were right with that damned gun..'Light Gun' you said.
    *nods*
    I don't get it tho..if we're engulfed by darkness..how does the gun work so fine?
    Haha!..ever stopped to think it doesn't imply actual light..but rather 'purity' of the user?..

    Haha!..quite..but anyways..we have to move on...
    Yeah..you're right..let's get on with it.
    And with reassured strengths they took sprint into a flight of stairs leading to the highest most dangerous floor of the imposing castle.

    There was that they were greeted by a massive door. The door was a blood red and filled with what seemed hieroglyphics from afar.

    Hunter begins to take a step forward, but Zero's extended arm met him.

    Wait..shadows are deeper here..be careful...

    Zero makes grip of his other weapon, the 'Laser Whip', and fires what became a bright light filling the entire room.
    'Shadows' wailed and crouched back blinded by the stream whirling trough the room.

    Now!..it's your chance..take the shots!
    Hell yea!

    Groans coming from the 'Shadows' were opaqued by the deafening sound of the rifle shots.

    How many were there?!
    I'm not sure..already took 8 down..but there's no more in sight

    *ROAR*
    There!

    Zero swings the whip that twisted around the 'Shadow' and he pulled it into reach, and fast as humanly possible a dagger pierced and cut in half the demon.
    Phew..that seems to be all of them.
    I guess you're right..let's move in quickly before anymore come out...

    Giving a closer inspection to the door, they were able to tell the figures weren't hieroglyphics, but merely engraved images of disturbing sacrifices, and what seemed to be a Demigod that the sacrifices were targeted for.

    This is damn creepy.
    Yeah..no sh..
    *rumbling*

    The terrible door opening to reveal a circle formed of roaring purple flames.

    This..this is it...
    *gulps*..The defining moment huh?..let's go...

    But as soon as Hunter meant to take a step, Zero was already facing him.
    Laser Whip to his gut.

    What are you doing?!
    Stopping you..isn't it obvious?
    But why you idiot?!
    Simple..you can't die..not here..you have to go back and save Luna and March...
    What?..I didn't see them anywhere..so I'm sure they are past this door.
    No..you have to go down the stairs again..there you will see a door...
    Door??..what do..
    There was a door on the right side of the stairs..I (and the 'Shadows') kept you too busy to notice...
    No you're crazy.

    But the last word was garbled and shadowed by the electric rush of the paralyzing whip's effect running trough his body.
    And with a shock in his face, Hunter's body fell heavy to the ground.

    *mumbling*
    I'm sorry..but it must be done..you'd only get in my way..
    Besides..March loves you..and I can't let her be shattered by your death, can I?..
    N-NO!!..You really think that by doing this she'll love you too?..
    No..I'm just making sure she's happy..whatever she feels for me is now..irrelevant...

    With the effects of the paralysis wearing off, Hunter managed to stand up and took a sprint, but it was too late. Zero had already banished with the flames, and kneeling in the ground, Hunter punched the floor.
