• Blood, and a lot of it escaped Kain's lips as he took the mortal blow that Rubicante dealt to him, his body moved to save the life of his lover. She screamed like a banshee and fell back, shaking uncontrollably. Kain fell back as well, his body limp on the ground in front of her. Rubicante laughed and mutterred this:

"Kain you fool. Die like the mutt that you are. I can't believe I considered you my brother."

Kain sighed outward, his mind reeling from the immense pain that throbbed at his stomach, blood pooling around him as he bled out. His lover, a vampire named Freya, crawled to his side. She uttered these words, her hands holding his own:

"Kain my love, you can't leave me...please I beg of you...stay. I need you here, I need you near. I need your smile and touch, your heart and your warmth. Please Kain..."

Kain smiled softly, and stroked her pale cheek with his bloodless hand. His golden hues closed slowly, and he murmured these words:

"Freya my love, I need but wonder just what is left undone, what needs to be taken care of, and what hasn't happeend yet. So much to say, so many words to speak to you. My time is nigh, and death draws near, my heart beats fast, my mind just reels. I want you to live after this, continue the life I've granted for you. Rubicante won't bother you anymore. Freya, everything is getting darker, so before I fall asleep, let me say one thing:

    I love you."

His heart stopped beating, and Freya screamed a banshee's scream, her pain so intense. She bent down and placed a soft kiss from her ruby red lips to his paling forehead. Looking to the sky, she cried tears of tsunami~like waves that crashed all around Kain's body, face, shoulders. Suddnely, she remembered the words her lover truly did live and die by.

"Freya, the words of a wolf must be followed at any cost, ever death. My words for you are these. I Will Protect You, Keep You Living, and in the end, Preserve Your Life."
