• Chapter Three: Another Attack and the killer identified

“It wants to kill?” I repeated.
“Yes, it wants to kill, and it wants blood.” Cai said, rolling his eyes. “You know what? I thought fairies were smart, but I’m not sure about you.”
“I thought vampires were deceiving.” I said.
“Fine, you got me, I was lying,” he said sarcastically.
    I chuckled.
    “What’s so funny?” Cai asked.
    “You’re funny,” I said, smiling.
Cai gave me a soft look. I realized his eyes were different; an hour ago his eyes were dark amber, but now they were golden brown.
“Your eyes changed color,” I whispered.
“To what color?” he asked, leaning closer.
“They’re golden brown,” leaning back on the bed, realizing that Cai was on top of me.
Cai got closer to my face; does he want to kiss me? “For a fairy, I think you’re beautiful.” He whispered into my ear.
That compliment brought chills to my spine. “Ai, I do have feelings for you.” Cai said.
“Are you telling me the truth?” I asked.
Cai laughed. “I’m just kidding.” He said, sitting up.
I took a deep breath, sat up, and slapped his face. “How dare you say that!” I hissed, getting up, and walked towards the infirmary door.
Before I could open the door, the door open quickly, and in a hurry comes Doctor Mix and Master Lee.
    “Aisha!” Master Lee called.
“Master Lee, what’s wrong?” I asked, looking at the Master; her face paler than Cai’s, the first thing that comes to my mind is that something was a missed.
“Ai, another fairy was attacked, she is alive, but her left arm and leg were turned into fairy dust. She knows what attacked her.”
“Who was the fairy that got attacked?” I asked.
“It was your roommate, Aqua.” Doctor Mix said.
I surge of panic flowed through me. “Is she back at the dorm room?” I asked.
    Master Lee nodded.
I ran immediately out of the infirmary to my dorm room. When I got to my dorm room, I opened the door, and saw Savanna sitting next to Aqua on her bed. Aqua’s beautiful blue eyes were filled with fear, and her whole body was bandaged up. “Ai, thank goodness you’re okay.” Savanna said.
“Aqua, I heard what happened,” I said, hugging her. “I’m glad you made it out alive!”
I couldn’t hear Aqua, her mouth was also bandaged. Then Savanna looked in Aqua’s direction. “Ai, who is that?” she pointed.
I turned around, and saw Cai at the door. “Cai, did you follow me?” I said, walking up to him.
“Yeah, Doctor Mix wanted me to make sure you were okay.” Cai said.
“Aisha, are you going to introduce us to this guy?” Savanna asked.
“This is Cai, believe it or not, but he is a vampire that I helped.” I said.
    “An enemy!”
    “Yeah.”
“Ai you know that you shouldn’t help an enemy, it’s against school rules!” Savanna said.
“I know that, Cai was injured by the thing that attacked Aqua. He also has permission to enter our campus.”
“Interesting.” Savanna said. “You were attacked by the same thing that attacked Aqua, and Ashli?”
Cai nodded. “Aqua, is it? Did you see what the creature was?”
“Savanna can you take off Aqua’s bandage?” I asked.
Savanna took off Aqua’s bandage on her lips. “Finally, I can talk!” she said. Aqua cleared her throat. “I did see the creature that attacked me, up close. I believe it was an Inbreed.”
“What is an Inbreed?” I asked.
“An Inbreed is a mixture of creatures, but they are rare to see,” Savanna said.
“Why are they rare to see?” I asked.
“They are rare to see because once you see them, you die,” Cai said. “Inbreeds live on other creature’s blood, and when an Inbreed drinks being’s blood, they also take away your powers.”
“They take away our powers?” I said.
“Yes, for example, Ashli was a fire fairy, when she was attacked; her powers were taken away once the Inbreed took drank her blood.” Aqua said.
“Another example is when my classmate encountered the Inbreed. When a vampire dies, they turn to stone. When my classmate died, he turned to stone, but his flesh was gone, only his skeleton remained,” Cai said. “When only bones remain on a vampire’s corpse, it means that its blood was taken.”
    “Interesting.” Savanna said.
The door opened, and a star came in. “A messenger,” Aqua said. “It’s from Master Lee. Savanna can you read the message?”
Savanna grabbed the star. “It’s for Aisha.” She handed the star message to me.

    Aisha,
There is a meeting at the Cave of Unity at midnight. All the masters of the schools are sending a representative to the Cave of Unity to talk about the problem we all face. Cai was chosen by his masters to go to the meeting, and we choose you to be our representative. Aisha, we chose you because we need the other students to stay here, and protect the school. Please understand why we chose you.

    Master Lee.

“I was chosen to be the representative for tonight’s meeting at the Cave of Unity.” I said.
