• Chapter 1
    Dani

You know how on the first day of school everyone looks at you? They ask how your summer was and scrutinize you at the same time. No one leaves you alone. Well, for me, I just get odd looks and get laughed at behind my back. I have a few close friends like Lauren, Ariana, and Bryce. Lauren is the singer and bassist in my band. Ariana is the drummer. And Bryce is just my neighbor who wants to be my boyfriend but won’t admit it.
I walked down the hall to my first class, math, when I bumped into someone. It was Damien Charles, the starting junior quarter back for the high school football team. He hated me and I hated him.
“Hey, Homo! How was your summer?” He asked. Of course homo was an exaggeration. I am bisexual. People need to get their information right.
“Buzz off, jock,” I shoved him out of my way. He looked hurt.
“Awh, come on, don’t be like that.” He grabbed my arm, than stuck out his foot. I tripped over it, my books scattering everywhere. Everyone laughed as I hurried to pick them up. Damien kicked me over. I gathered my stuff, ignored the pain in my side, and rushed to class.
Math class was just plain boring. Damien and his clones tortured me like last year. And the ‘popular’ girls giggled at me. I just stuck my tongue out at them, childishly.

When class was over I noticed one of my books was missing. My diary! I knew I shouldn’t have brought it with me. Worried, I ran out into the hall and looked around. Then I spotted Damien holding it and reading it.
“Give it back!” I shouted. He looked at me and continued reading. I took this short time to analyze him. He was wearing baggy faded blue jeans, his football jersey, plain running shoes, and a backward cap. His sandy-blonde hair hung down a little past his ears; his bangs covered his ocean-blue eyes sometimes. I sighed.
“So you do like me,” Damien closed the diary and handed it to me. I was about to say something when he cut me off. “By the way, I’m having a party in about two weeks. I want you to come.” I stood there, gaping like an idiot.
    ***********************
I rushed through my classes, trying to ignore Damien’s stares and taunts. He kept smiling and winking at me. I felt like I had a stalker. His friends probably already knew that I like him. Well, I’ll admit it. Yes, I, Dani Shane, like him, Damien Charles. I have liked him since about freshman year. Now he knows. My junior year was quickly turning into hell.
After gym, I headed for the locker rooms. I usually always wait for everyone to leave before I do anything. I pulled off my bra and hurried into the showers. The door closed and opened. Late arrival, just like me.
The shower felt nice after playing volleyball for half an hour. It washed away the sweat from my body. I squeezed out my long hair as I went to my clothes. My bra was gone. Damn them for playing more tricks on me. I peeked around and saw Damien holding it on his index finger. My face was bright red as I realized that I was still naked. I pulled my towel over my breasts.
“Why are you here?” I stuttered. He walked up to me.
“Oh you know…” He entwined his hands in mine, making me drop the towel. His face was inches from mine. I never really noticed how beautiful his ocean-blue eyes were.
Damien shoved me, hard against the lockers and kissed me. Our lips molding perfectly together. I curved into him. My body was on fire with emotion. He stuck his tongue in my mouth. This was the most wonderful kiss I had ever had. I could feel him getting harder against me.
He pulled away. His face was covered in sweat. It was warm in the locker room. Then he just left. Taking my bra with him.
