    Mission: Pegasus.
    Specialist Sasha Remakov
    597th Verdian Rifles, 3rd battalion, D company, 3rd platoon, 1st squad

Sasha knelt onto one knee as he viewed the area in front of him. Lifting his stolen AK74-U to eyesight, he peered around cautiously. His mind raced through the many outcomes of what might happen if there was an enemy soldier there. Coming to the conclusion that there was no soldier there, he slowly got back up and lifted his hand shooting his two fingers up and moving them forward. Like magic, three other Gaian soldiers came out of hiding. They were perfectly blended in with the terrain, and if there had been another enemy there, he would've been dead in the drop of a pencil, no doubt though, Sasha was impressed with the hiding himself. Moving forward, he and his squad double timed it over the dense forest they had to cross. Sasha hated forest due to the leaves and other things that could screw over their silence and detection abilities. With a blank stare he slowly stood up from his crouch as they came to an clearing. Stopping a few feet in from the clearing, the squad assessed their chances and slowly picked their way through the edges of the clearing.

Taking a deep breath, Sasha exhaled and watched the visible air come out and disappear into the night air. Strapping his AKS74-U to his back and pulling out his oh so favorite M14, he watched his vectors and kept a keen eye on the trees. As they got closer to the outskirts of the city, the danger level got higher. They were in constant threat of patrols and being discovered. Due to the failed attempt of Apocalypse Rising: the plane to retake the city that the Fourth Gaian Infantry lost, and the Third oh so let them lose, an entire special ops division is being in to sabotage key points in the defense, making ready for Gaian task force that is being preped and ready for attack in 1200 hours. At approximately twelve noon, an entire task force is hitting the city, getting ready to retake the city. See, the whole battle is between the Crok and the Gaian continent forces. GCF for short. The GCF had owned this place when the Crok attacked it. Pushing the Crok back, Gaia gained control over lots of the area that was attacked.

As swift a victory, did their luck change. The military command seemed to confuse the numbers of the Crok's military -Why isn't that so hard to believe?- and the Crok devastated the Gaian forces. The city that had been lost was basically the Alamo of this war. Gaia lost it's Alamo, and they were going to get it back. The airborne tried and attempted to regain possesion of it early that day, but it resulted in failure, and the entire 502nd regiment was wiped out. Small pockets of soldiers are still alive, and are causing quite the ruckus. Basically, Sasha and the rest of his division are being sent in to make life hell for the Croks, so much so that it is easy for the main Task Force to go in and beat the living hell out of them. Making quick movements, Sasha stepped over a trip wire, pointing at it to let his mates know and moved onward, stepping over similar wires. He was getting close to the city. The Croks set up trip mines, smart but disturbingly simple trick. Coming closer the squad took only ten more minutes before they reached their destination, an entire forty meters from the city's edge. Setting up, he turned to a squad mate of his and motioned to his back, "Dimitri, give me the radio, we need to let battalion HQ know we reached RV Kilo, and we are ready to start operation Pegasus." he said in a quick Russian accent. Nodding, he unslung his pouch and opened it to reveal a radio, picking up the reciever/speaker and handing it to Sasha.

"Command, this is Omega 1-1 actual, come in." he said in a quiet whisper.

"Omega 1-1, this is Command, we read you loud and clear, report progress over."

"Omega is in place and ready to begin Pegasus with soaring wings, over." he replied in another monotonous answer.

"Roger, do you see the two tanks to the south of your check point? confirm with roger, over."

    "Roger."

"Your primary objective is to clear those tanks and then push forward. Air support is unavailable till suns up, Though, little birds, cobras, and Apaches will be online and in station for use. Call signs are Zebra, Fire Bird, and Hornet, Over."

"Roger, command, are other teams set? Confirm with Roger." Sasha inquired. He was wanting to know if other teams were ready to begin the raids.

"Roger, teams Alpha through Wilco are ready. You are go when you see the flash to the south. Command out." the silence suggested that the command had hung up, and Sasha nodded putting down the radio. Turning to his comrades, he knelt on one knee then pointed to the demolition expert in the group. "Vassili, we are going to need that C4 soon," pointing to the marksman of the group, Sasha went down the row giving orders, "Kamlacov, I need you to support Vassili while he blows the tanks." Dimitri nodded, knowing his orders already, and the group started to get out their equipment.

A good five minutes passed before the group sat in unison, and completely ready for the attack. Watching the south for the flash. Watching intently, the group dropped to the deck in surprise as a spot light turned on inside the city, and an explosion sounded. "s**t!" Sasha cursed as he pieced together the happenings. Someone must have been spotted. "Sir! Command is calling in, Alpha squad has gone MIA, all other squads are to pull back. We've been found out, mission scrubbed, RTB RTB." Dimitri called over the second explosion. Boiling with anger, he turned back and shook his head. "Tell command that Omega squad is going in after Alpha squad. We RTB with or without Alpha. Lets go Vardens, we have s**t to blow up!" he said and stood up turning around to run to the nearest house. "Vassili, execute those tanks on my mark...three....two....one....MARK!" Sasha said and ran with Vassili, covering him, as he dodged to the tanks. The Croks surrounding the area were surprise. Killing three of them instantly, Sasha covered Vassili before using the tank as cover to change mags. Vassili popped the C4 into a slit in the tanks hull, the observers slit, and he and Sasha ducked behind the second tank quickly. An earth shattering bang erupted and the turret of the first tank flew off. Dimitri and Kamlacov came to rescue, giving covering fire while Vassili did the same to the second tank. Screams of horror were audible in the tank, and Sasha dived into a window of a nearby house. The explosion erupted, and Sasha sat up with a large head ache. His thoughts were mangled and he knew the day was going to be long and very hard. "We are saving Alpha, Omega!" he screamed and jumped out the door behind the Crok infantry, still semi stunned from the appearance of a squad of Gaians, and opened fire. The coldness of the night didn't bother Sasha since hear radiated of his gun and adrenaline made him ten times hotter. His face flashed with the light emenating from his barrel as he fired rounds into the unsuspecting enemy.
