• Chapter One:
    Blah. School

I took 30 minutes just to find an outfit in Mel's closet that didn't look like it belonged to a hooker. I ended up wearing a tank top over a band tee she got and a skirt with purple leggings. She only had heels so i ended up wearing 5 inch heeled boots. Now i looked like a smallish hooker too.I knew everyone saw this as i walked into first hour; Algebra. Mr. Sample gave me a seat next to a smallish boy who looked like he could have been my twin.So i sat down and i figured out his name was Andy. Wow. Same first letter to name. I ignored everyone's staring up until lunch; at which i sat at a very empty table in the far corner of the crowded lunchroom. This school's food was pretty good.
But since everyone was staring at me, i ate very little. About halfway through lunch, a girl sat right smack dab next to me; an attempt to get gossip no doubt. And that was exactly what she wanted. Her name was Amber,(WHATS WITH ALL THE A NAMES?!) and she considered me better than a magazine. I put up with her embarrissing questions until gym, FINALLY, something i am good at.

This week was volleyball week; my favorite. I was put on the A team when they tested me to see how advanced i was. When the ball came to me, look out A2 team. We won by 14 points and everyone loved me, especially one boy named Sam. He turned to me after the game and continued to compliment everything i did. " That was a great serve Amanda! blah blah blah." was all i heard. I was really out of it today. After Gym i had science. My leeast favorite class. And of course, sat right next to Amber, Sam, Andy, and a quiet girl who kept staring at me, named Natalia. i didn't listen very well because they were doing a lab i had already done in New Mexico. Oh yeah and guess what! It snowed. Alot. I had to dive to get to Aunt Celia's waiting BMW.

At home i changed into some sweats and sat down, exhausted." No such thing as fairy tales, Amanda." i told myself, putting myself down. I was answered by a soprano bell tone voice," nonsense, Mandy, fairytales are truer than real life." I quickly sat up and looked at my door but no one was there.
I ran down the stares and practically yelled at Aunt Celia, " YOUR HOUSE IS HAUNTED!!!" She looked at me and laughed. " yes! the ghosties are gonna eat you!" I took back up the stares and started to feel sad again. " MANDY YOU BE HAPPY!" said the answering voice again. This time i wanted to hear it and pinned down where it came from. My dresser drawer. I opened it and saw a flower growing out of my homework. " The heck?" was all i could say, seeing the roots sprawled across my clumsy scrawl. " pick the flower you dopey girl!" the voice taunted me as i put my jaw back in place. I picked the flower as it opened and showed a very smallish doll thing. The doll looked at me and answered " Believe me now, dopey?" I threw it across the room and was given a loud " OW" as an answer. Was i going crazy or what?!
