• In a small village with a legacy the king's knights, there lived a retired knight who taught whoever wanted to learn the art of fencing and swordplay. His neice, Tabitha, was the best in the class. She trained tirelessly every day. Tabitha was sure no one could best her.

One day a mysterious traveller came to the village, seeking for a match with Tabitha. Tabitha readily accepted, thinking that this would spread her name as a skilled female swordsman when she won.

The traveller was more skilled in the art than she was, and Tabitha was sure she would lose, and her reputation as a swordsman would be ruined. How will she ever become a knight like her uncle now?

But her opponent had a certain gleam in his eye. Near the end of the match, he was fighting with the low skill level of the beginner! He had let her win!

Tabitha was deamed the victor. In a small town like this, she was now famous! But why...? It shouldn't be like this. The traveller could have won... With her undying curiosity, she went to traveller as he was about to leave town.

    He smiled as she approached.

"Why did you let me win?'

    "That's a secret."

    "Wha-"

"If you want to know the answer, travel to the capital, and become a knight. You'll have quite the reputation... after all, you did defeat a master. Here."

The master gave the shocked girl a single white rose and whispered in her ear, "I can't wait to see you become a knight, young maiden." he winked and shortly left the village, in the glow of the sunset.
