• -There Hoji stood, in the crowd, covering his face with his hood. He looked to the center of the crowd at the gallows.
-Which Rebal did they find today? He thought as the guards led the beaten and bloodied shrouded figure to the ropes. Hoji watched as they pulled the rope over the bag and tied it.
-Hoji stood there, wanting to know who exactly had been caught, especially since the King was there. The fat, bearded man sat in a seat overlooking the crowd looked cruelly happy as the guards removed the bag from the man.
-Hoji stared at his twin's face at the gallows. Sai stood there, his head bowed, looking back at his twin. Hoji turned and started walking away from the gallows.
-"This man has been tried for an assassination plot against his King," A man cried over the crowd's blood-thirsty roar. "He was trusted by you all, but be assured. The King himself saw the murder's face, this very face! The King wounded him during the night!"
-Hoji knew that Sai was innocent. Hoji looked back at his brother. They were Rebals through and through, brothers in both blood and service. Hoji turned back, feeling his stab woundes from the King's dagger. Hoji was out of the courtyard when he heard the terrible sound.
-Sai was dead, but not for a crime he did. Hoji fought back his rage as he went about his day.
