• The wind whistled through my hair as I chased after Claire. We were playing tag, one of our favorite games. Our feet thudded noiselessly on the ground as we raced after each other.
Claire and I were twins. You couldn't tell, but we were. I had medium length dirty blonde hair that fell in a long cascade over my shoulders. Clair, on the other hand, had shoulder length black hair.
"Hey, Cloe, want to go to the park?" she called eagerly in my direction.
"Sure, why not?" I replied a bit absent-mindedly.
We rode our bikes to the park-we didn't usually walk. We laughed with our hair billowing behind us as we passed by all the houses and other buildings. The air was crisp, sort of like a fresh baked apple pie.
Claire and I loved the park. Usually, there were three or four kids there, somewhere around my age. The playground is always a blast. With 5 slides, 2 rockwalls, 3 or so climbing bars, and 10 swings, we're always entertained.
We arrived at the park after a 15 minute bike ride. We shoved our bikes into the rack, and took off running towards the playground.
It was especially crowded today, for some reason. Every kid was a sixth grader, like Claire and I. They were running around like maniacs, the boys carrying buckets, the girls digging holes.
Claire was usually the first one to talk, so she went right ahead and asked what they were up to.
"So, what's up?" she asked casually to Seth, the nearest kid. "It seems like the whole sixth grade is here."
"Pretty much." he replied hesistantly. "We're playing war today. It should actually be quite entertaining."
That got me interested. We has never played war at the park before. The park was kind of run down, but it was the perfect place for war. We had countless shelters, tons of ammo, and absolutely no adult supervision.
"Oh my god, I am so excited!"I jumped in. "Everything is perfect!"
"Well," Seth started. "We had a little vote before you came...and you two are the team captains!"
    "Cool!" Claire exclaimed.
After that, Claire and I picked team members. Claire went first.
    "Haley."
    "Shelby."
    "Sierra."
    "Lake."
    "Kelsie."
    "Morgan."
    "Wesley."
    "Seth."
And ity went on until everyone was picked. We divided up all the supplies, which included mudballs, shovels, catapults, old driftwood planks, and backets of water. My team gathered together for a meeting. We had around 10 players, all of them my friends.
