• Mystery of the Unknown

It was a Saturday morning and Alicia was walking the two dogs she was watching. It started to get dark and it was in the middle of the day. She thought there must be a storm coming. So she ran to the house with the dogs and everyone was gone, her neighbors where gone to. She asked the dogs “Where could they be?” And then she heard beep beep beep and someone saying “Get up lazy, time for school.” She just remembered it was the first day of school. So she jumped out of bed and fell to the ground with a crash she forgot she was handicap. In all of her dreams she could run around and do tricks but that was just in her dreams.
She got in her wheelchair and thought about what would happen to her on the first day of school. She wondered how many people would make fun of her because she was in a wheelchair. She arrived at the school and she was so happy it was a school for the handicapped with equipment for the handicapped also. Nobody would make fun of her at this school but she said to herself “What about all of my friends.” The ones that helped her around she missed them so much. They where on the other side of the country. With everyone and every thing she knew and loved. She just moved to live with her aunt and uncle that is why. She went into the school and a little girl was sitting on a seat but not in a wheelchair the girl said “Hi you must be Alicia!” she didn’t get out of her seat but Alicia still replied “Hi what’s your name?” the little girl said “My name is Katie.” “Why aren’t you in a wheelchair?” Alicia asked. The little girl looked sad and finally replied “I was trying to go to a regular school and it didn’t work out that well.”
Alicia asked soon after “What happened?” The little girl said “Well this group of girls came up to me and told me they would show me around.” “So they took me out of my chair and threw my chair over a hill side.” “That’s so horrible.” Alicia said. Just then the principle walked in and said “I guess you already met. This is Katie and you to will be together a lot, you have the same classes so I will show you both around in a second ok. I will get your new wheelchair Katie.” The principle came back into the room. “Follow me and I will show you around.”
When they got back they went to their class. She realized she was now in fifth grade. There were more people in wheelchairs than she thought. Well it was just a surprise to her. She wasn’t the only person with problems. She went to ask for help on the bus but shortly after a ramp came down and she saw that you just get on that instead of going up the stairs. She got home nobody was there, things were missing from her room. There she stood frightened as could be. “There is one explanation and only one.” She said out loud “a robber.” But if it was a robber then why was her aunt gone that mystery flowed throughout her head all day. She sat quietly to do her homework then she heard something up stairs. She listened for a minute and then went up to see what was going on. Her aunt came in the door and saw the mess Alicia had no idea her aunt was home because Alicia was up stairs.
Alicia went down stairs to be frightened by her aunt. But strangely she thought it wasn’t her aunt. She went to school the next day and the teachers where asking her if she was all right. “What do you mean all right, about what?” she said then her teacher Mrs. Grandfield said “I don’t know how your going to take this but your aunt is dead she was killed last night when you where here.” Alicia fainted for she felt her heart stop beating. She was taken to the Hospital along with her best friend Katie.
When she was in the bed she woke up to here the voice of Katie and Mrs. Grandfield comforting her. Next thing she knows a nurse comes in with medicine she asks the nurse “Where am I?” “Your at the hospital you fainted.” The nurse replied shortly after. As she sits up and waves to Katie and Mrs. Grandfield Katie comes rolling in as fast as she could to give her a hug. “I was so so so worried about you I was so scared I was afraid you’d...” then the teacher came in and interrupted. “I’m so glad your ok Alicia.” The teacher said softly almost whispering. “What happened how did I faint?” Alicia asked both the teacher and Katie. Katie mumbled something shortly after that was hard to make out. “Your aunt died, I’m sorry!” “What that is impossible she was at the house I saw her! You’re crazy.”
Alicia yelled at them. “You’ve gotten to believe us this time this is no lie.” Mrs. Grandfield said gently. When she was finally over the fact her aunt died she went home. Her uncle was still there at the house. When she walked in her uncle was playing the guitar. Alicia rolled to the backyard. She started playing and she heard a noise in the forest. She started to roll her wheelchair into the forest of Wildwood to see what that sound was. One of the front wheels of wheelchair got stuck on a tree root. She fell into a puddle the size of her hand. Soon after that the puddle grew to the length of a person lying down. The puddle became a pool of water. She started to drowned in the pool.
Then something grabbed her leg. Just then something took her by the arm and tried to get her out of the water. What ever was grabbing her leg was more powerful. The creature pulled her down so far in the water. The lower she got the colder and darker the water got. As she was getting pulled down something got caught on her hand it started to slip but she grabbed it. Then all of a sudden she could breathe. “How can this be, I’m under water!” she yelled not noticing she said it out loud. Alicia didn’t know what was going on. She tried to scream but the water blocked out the sound. She looked up hopping to see light but instead she saw some thing no some one dive in to save her. She looked at the face of the person and she thought where she had seen him she couldn’t think of it. He untied her feet and grabbed her hand and pulled her up to the surface. All she did was stair at him and think where she met him.
Then suddenly it hit her he was from a dream she had a long time ago. She smiled and said “Hi my name is Alicia.” He interrupted and said “I know who you are. And by the way were you trying to kill yourself back there?” he started to walk away “You where nicer in my dream Leo yah I know your name. Why are you being so mean to me?” she yelled running to catch-up to him. “A girl like you should be taking care of the animals, cooking, and healing the men from battle and men on the other hand fight and protect the town.” he replied after.
With that she looked away from him and said “Are you saying girls can’t fight for themselves? And what town?” He stopped and looked right at her but she was still not looking at him “By the way you got stuck in that situation back there you can not fight! I just think your to pretty to fight and get hurt. Oh and it is the town of Riverside.” He said it without smiling all strait faced. She looked back to see him he was gone!
She saw something move in the bushes that had the same red spiky hair as Leo. She followed what ever that was. It led her to an opining and that thing she was following was a fox! Now she was surrounded by foxes. She screamed as the foxes got close to her ready to prance. The she saw something running to her it was Leo he must have herd her. He scared all of the foxes away and pulled her back to the trail.
Just then she realized that there was something wet in her hand. Her hand was griped around something. As she opened her hand and Leo stared at it, it was a necklace. “It’s so pretty! What is this?” she asked. “It is a stone a blue stone!” he was so shocked. “What does this mean?” she questioned him. He said “This makes you..., wait that means…” he could not say any thing. She put the necklaces on. Just then someone came up behind her and scared her. She twirled around shocked.
“Hello my name is Cole. Who are you?” A man said. She reached out her hand and said “Hello my name is Alicia.” Then she smiled looking at Cole as he shook her hand. Still looking in Cole’s big brown eyes Alicia asks him “Do you know where the town of Riverside is?” “Yes in fact I live there.” Cole said with gentleness in his voice. Cole went too reached for Alicia’s hand but Leo stepped in between them Alicia scowled at Leo and then smiled at Cole. They arrived at a huge hedge. “How are we going to get around this?” Alicia asked looking around.
Cole replied “We don’t go around it, we go thru it!” Leo and Cole walked right thru the hedge. When Alicia walked in the hedge it was black she didn’t know where she was, she decided to just walk straight. Finally she came to a spot, it was a wall. Alicia searched the wall until she came to a door she opened it and saw a huge city and lots of people. Just there she saw Cole and Leo. Leo asked her “Where were you? You took so long.” “What do you mean I took so long, you saw it, it was four feet long. It was dark too.” Alicia replied. Then Cole said with under standing just this. “It was her first time here so it was a longer way to make sure she wouldn’t give up that’s it.” Leo said “Come this way follow me.” They walked until they reached a house Leo told Alicia she needed to rest. “This is my house go and get some rest.” Cole just then interrupted and said to rest at his house. Leo and Cole were so much in to arguing they didn’t notice someone walk away with Alicia. The strange girl and Alicia got to the most beautiful house Alicia ever saw.
“Lets go to my room ok.” The girl said and they walked off.
