• Chapter 1

    *RIIIIIIINNNNGGGGG*
"Ugh," I said as I turned my head and looked at the alarm on my stupid phone. No way did I feel like going to school today.
Twelve seconds later my eyes popped open when I remembered.
    School.
    Crap, I can't believe I forgot.
Today's the first day of my freshman year at John F. Kennedy High School. This means 4 years of torture from the same teachers who I'll probably have just for my life to be made miserable. This year means a complete torture for most freshmen by the upper classmen. Not me though, because my older brother Ataru, is a senior this year.I already went to freshman orientation yesterday, which doesn't even count since today's the actual day that all the upper classmen will be there. Then again almost nothing that interesting will happen this year, in boring as hell Omaha, Nebraska.
I quickly get ready, knowing that Ataru will be mad if I don't hurry, since we have to be out of the house by 7:20.Well at least I get to see Rumiko for the first time since 8th grade when she had to move.
I grabbed my things and headed out the door with Ataru who drove us to school.

By the way, my names Yuki, and I'm 14 years old.I live with both of my parents, my evil little sister Atsumi, and as I already mentioned, my older brother.I wouldn't be surprised though if him and his girlfriend, Wakiko, were living together by the end of the year.I was born in California, but when I was barely 6 months old, my parents packed up our belongings and my brother and I, and moved us to Nebraska. So for all my 14 years, I've grown up in this huge city, and as far as I can see, been with almost the same kids in school since Kindergarten. And I see no reason how thats going to change.

I got out of the car, and heard Ataru say to be at the car by no later then 3:00 or else he would leave without me.
Psh!Yea right, mom would send his butt back to get me so fast his head would spin.
I walked up to the school, not really paying attention to anything around me, until I heard the all too familiar voice of my close friend Rumiko.
"Hey Yuki, wait up you freaking weirdo!" She yelled as she quickly got out of her mom's car.
I stopped for her, and waited. We hugged as she reached me.
"Ready for today?" I asked her.She laughed.
"Heck no!When am I?" she said between laughs.
"Well, I'll tell you this much:this year is going to be crazy.I can just feel it," I said as we walked in.

    Two Week Later

I was in the office handing in some papers that had my information that the school seemed to want to know, and I'll never know why.As I was walking out I saw one of my classmates from homeroom, Amarante and who I thought to maybe be her older brother.Well, either way, he was really cute.
"Amarante!" I called out to her, and she looked back and smiled.
"Yuki!" She said, and both of them walked over to me.
"Hey weirdie. What are you up to?" I asked her, after giving her a hug.
"Oh!Before I tell you, this is my brother Etaru," She said introducing me to him.
"Hi!I'm Yuki. You'll find that I don't bite....that hard at least," I joked, and he only said hi back.
I turned back to Amarante and as we discussed some school stuff, I felt this connection towards her older brother. But that couldn't be.I had told myself that I would never let myself fall for a guy in high school.I was to stick to the books, and keep my head where it was supposed to be.And that did not, under any circumstances, include having a boyfriend.
'For all you know, it could just mean that you guys will be great friends,' the mean voice in my head said logically.
'Hey!I wasn't asking you to comment on my thoughts you know,' I thought back angrily.
'Well sorry.Next time you're on your own kiddo,' it retorted.
'Fine go away.Don't need you anyways,' I huffed.

"Anyways, Etaru and I have to get going.I'll see you at school tomorrow Yuki," Amarante said, breaking me out of my thought.
I shot her brother another look out of the corner of my eye when neither was looking, and then nodded, giving her another hug, and telling her that I needed to go anyways.
