• The Key

    Humans.
Where creatures targeted by god, our feelings are consuming, and a mere act of rage could do more damage than that of a rabid animal. Deep down we know this fact, but we fight against it, shortening our already short lives by every day of denial. We fight, we feel, we see, and we do the most simple yet damaging of all of our existence. We love.

    What is love?
Is it a simple emotion that can be set aside like a forgotten memory? Is it true that the only time can heal this strong emotion? Or is there more to it than a simple amount of days?
After all, its said that love controls most of our emotions, if not all. We thrive for the contact of another, the feeling of the compassions lingering among our own, kneading together as though to form a strong quilt to warm us on the long, lonely, cold winter nights. We need these strong emotions, though some need it more than others.

Maybe that’s what made you so different from each other.

While he turned away from the idea immediately, you clung to it. You acted as though you where a leech, refusing to let go until your needs had been satisfied. An infant that needed its mother’s milk to live, refusing to drink from a bottle. You acted as though it was your only true nourishment, giving it to others as they gave it to you.

When you looked at him you saw his rejections. You took a mental note at every act of rejection he showed, not wanting any part of your display of affections. For some reason it attracted you to him, drawing you in like a moth to a lamp, completely hypnotized by his mere presence. It truly made you feel selfish. The lesser you got, the more you wanted, the more you wanted him. You yearned to be held in his embrace, taking in his scent and listen to his steady breathing. Deep down you wanted nothing more than to warm his cold soul and kiss his delicately juicy lips…
… Though you would never admit it.

When he saw you, he saw the complete opposite. He saw things that made him shy away in fear that his mask would shatter completely, causing him to be consumed by his temptations. He did what he thought was the easiest thing to do and lied to himself. He told himself that he hated you; that he wanted nothing more than to get away from your beckoning form. He felt like a dog with a collar wrapped around his supple neck, and you held the leash that shortened his tolerance. He tried to occupy himself with various tasks, but in his mind you ever lingered; and when ever you called his name a shudder racked up his spine. He knew that any form of sensual contact would break him like a dog, but in the very back of his mind he held his true emotions locked up. He wanted nothing more than to feel your soft skin under his elegant fingers and dance them along every nook and cranny that you held. He wished to taste you, all of you, and take your pearl into his hot mouth that you longed so much to press against your own.

It was something you both wanted, and you would do anything to bribe his tempting wants to come out. After all…

    You had the only Key.
