• With barely shaking hands he took the cold silvery mass from the shirt drawer it had been so long tucked safely away inside. Lifting it so that he could see the shape in the dim light he fondled his fate in his fingers. His whole body quivered as he pushed shut the drawer and slowly made his way to the rug where she sat, cross legged and illuminated by the same soft light.

It was the first time in a while he had had a chance to get a good look at her. The mere thought of her brought tears to his eyes, his feelings for her ran so deep. He longed to twirl a strand of her dark hair around his pointer finger, knowing he may never get to do so again. But he resisted the urge, giving her a faint smile as he neared her spot.

Her only tear-drop grew to many as she saw the crimson begin to flow from his limp body. The gun fell from his dead fingers while he released his final breath.
Screams escaped her open mouth as she flung herself to his lifeless corpse.
Warm blood stained every article of clothing while she lightly stroked his smooth hair. She muttered his name over again, rocking forward and back with her dead lover in her arms.

Carefully she drew herself away from him, placing him beside her on the rug. She reached down for the culprit that had murdered him and opened the chamber once again.

She put the extra bullet in the first empty space, without turning it, insuring that the first shot was the killer.

She took it to her head, the same spot he had held it just moments before, and fell to his side when the shot was fired...
