• Sora woke up to find himself in the middle of a crowded street. Where the hell am I? He tried to remember how he gotten to this strange place but found that his memories were either too fuzzy or not there at all. This is so weird… He stood up, and looked around. “Where is this?” he said aloud. The people walking all around him took no notice of him at all. He tried to flag down a man dressed in a business suit, but the man ignored him completely and walked away. “Jerk…”
Sora looked up at the tall buildings around him. “Some kind of city?” He felt a small jolt in his hand, and held up the small object that was in it. It was a small black pin, with a skull on it. He picked it up with his other hand, and rolled it over in his hand. Suddenly, a great pressure descended on his mind.
    “That boy is so-“
    “Omg that purse-“
    “I wonder if I should…-“
Sora clutched his head and dropped the pin. “Voices! I definitely heard voices.” He picked up the pin and noticed that he didn’t here the voices again. “Hmmm… maybe you have to squeeze it or something,” He clipped the pin onto the sleeve of his shirt, and looked around again. There were a lot of people. They were moving across the streets at a very high speed. “Someone could get hurt if they weren’t careful…”
Something vibrated in Sora’s pocket. He pulled out a small cell phone. “Where did this come from?” He opened it and read the message. “Reach 104. You have 30 minutes. Fail to complete and face erasure. –The Reapers.” Sora scratched his head. “What the heck is that supposed to mean? Oh well, probably junk mail. Delete!” Sora pressed the delete button, but soon after the phone vibrated again. It was the same message. “Jeez, its like the junk mail from hell…” He gasped in shock as he felt a strange sensation on his hand. He looked a it and jumped back. “What the hell?!” A small timer with glowing red numbers had appeared on his hand and was slowly counting down.
“I guess I had better do what that mail said.” Sora looked up at the buildings around him and saw that one of them had, in huge letters, 104 on the front of it. “Well that was pretty easy…” As he walked towards the building, he didn’t notice that a red shape was slowly moving through the air towards him. “Sora, watch out!” a girl’s voice cried out. The shape shot straight at Sora, and there was a flash of light. Suddenly, he was alone in a strange distorted version of the city he had been in. “What the-“ was all he had time to get out before a frog-like creature leapt toward him. “What is that?!” he cried. The creature hit him in the chest and knocked him to the ground. He tried to hit it with his fist, but the attack was ineffective. “Gah… looks like I have to run.” Sora got to his feet and ran down a nearby alley. There was another flash of light and he was back in the normal version of the city. He knelt down and clutched his stomach. Damn… that hurt… Why couldn’t I hit it?
He sat there for a moment, but looked up when he heard a sound at the far end of the alley. The strange red shape was back. “Why cant you leave me alone?!” Sora shouted as he jumped to his feet. He ran down the other end of the alley, but wasn’t able to go all that fast. The wound on his stomach was hurting him. The creature almost leapt on him, but a girl leaped out in front of him.
“Sora, make a pact with me!” she yelled. He nodded quickly. In his mind’s eye, he saw a glowing gold link reach out and connect him to the girl. He stood up as she tossed him another pin. “Use that pin and fight with me!” she cried. He nodded again, and got into a fighting stance as he was again dragged into the distorted world.
The frog was there again, but the girl was gone. “Hey girl! Where are you?” he yelled, rolling to the side as the frog-creature slashed at him with its leg.
“Sora, I’m still here! I’m just in another zone. Use that pin! Clip it to your sleeve, and touch it to activate it.” Sora heard the girl cry out, and realized that she must be fighting something too.
“What have I got to lose?” he asked himself and touched the pin. It glowed for a moment, and suddenly a strange silver and gold weapon appeared in his hand. It was shaped almost like a key, but had a handle. It flew forward towards the creature, almost yanking itself out of Sora’s hand. It shivered and continued to point at the frog. “Ah, so you want me to attack it?” The weapon didn’t respond, but continued to try to drag Sora towards the creature. Sora leapt into the air and hit the creature, knocking it into a wall. He ran at it and plunged the weapon into the frog. It turned black for a moment, and then vanished. Slowly, the world became right again, and the girl appeared next to Sora. She opened her mouth to speak, but he stopped her. “Before you say anything else, tell me who you are and how you know my name.”
The girls smiled at him and said, “Don’t you remember me? I’m Namine!”
