• I stumbled to a stop in front of a wide oak tree. It was night again and I hadn't stopped walking in hours. I felt a funny ache in my chest as I thought of sweet Holli. I could see her dark blue eyes and blonde hair in my head. I missed her so much. I had been gone almost a week now and I had heard sounds of pursuit behind me for a while. I figured it was guards searching for me. I jumped into the bushes that lined the road as a person came trotting up the road.

It was a beautiful white horse with a rider in dark clothes on his back. I felt my jaw drop as the rider looked right at where I knelt on the damp ground. It was a young man-probably my age-and he was very handsome. His hair was dark and messy. His eyes were an emerald green color.

"I see you Lady Jamilla. Come out." He said as he stopped the horse.

"How did you find me?" I asked as I stepped back onto the flat dusty road.

    "I followed your trail."

"Oh. If you are here to take me home, you got another thing coming." I warned darkly.

"I am here to assist you. My name is Marden. I was on my way to see you a few days ago only to find that you'd run off."

"It's a pleasure to meet you Marden. I am looking for help for my sister Holli."

    "Then I will assist you."

"Alright. We'd better set off quickly." I looked at my feet and felt the blisters.

"Let me call Midnight to assist you like Moonlight is assisting me." He whistled and a pure black horse trotted over to us. I controlled my face and hopped on.

"Let us be off." I kicked Midnight into a slow canter and we rode off into the dark night.
