• I grunted, and then I hugged her quickly. “Bye Mom,” I replied.
She drove off, and I was greeted by Janice.
    “Hey what’s up girl?”
“I’m tired. That’s all,” I replied while laughing a bit.
“Well, duh! What a stupid question to ask!”
    “Yeah, exactly!”
    Ding! Ding!
Ah! It’s the school bell! Let’s go! Janice ran ahead, and I followed, but then I tripped, dropping all the books I held.
“Oh, no! This is the wrong time!”
“Need some help,” said a familiar voice. I turned around only to find Ryan looking at me.
    “Ah, uh . . . y-yes please!”
He helped me get all my books, but I was blushing the whole time. I don’t want him to see me blushing! I tried to make sure he didn’t see my face, so once Ryan was finished helping me, I took the books and ran, saying thank you. I felt like an idiot back there. Ah, why me?! Why do I have to be so stupid! I ran to my classroom, and I sat next to Janice.
“Hey where were you,” said Janice.
“Hey,” I replied,” I had an ‘accident’.”
What?! Did your period leak,” she whispered because class started.
“No!” I said it a bit too loud.
“Miss Taka, would you mind say what I said before you interrupted,” Mr. Willinglong said sternly.
“Uh, um . . .” I quickly read what was on the blackboard. I took a wild guess. “You said that the Sun’s hot.”
That was the worst. I wish I never said that. The whole class laughed so loudly.
“Miss Taka! For not paying attention, you’re receiving detention!”
I heard Janice say sorry, but I didn’t blame her because it was me who said no too loud.

    **********

The day passed quickly as well as detention. I checked my phone, and I saw six text messages all from Kenji.
    “Hey, are you still there?”
    That was one.
“I decided to tell Ryan that you like him okay? I wanted to ask for your permission first, though.”
Oh, no! I read the next three messages all saying hello? The last one was terrible. It said:
“Okay, Whatever. I guess I’ll just tell him.”
I cursed. "No! Oh, no! That’s not good! I quickly texted Janice and told her the situation I was in.
“>=O Why did you have to tell Kenji?! Now he might spread it to the entire school!”
“T^T I’m sorry! He’s my neighbor, and I’ve known him for years! I didn’t know he would actually tell Ryan. =’( I wonder why, though. I mean I’ve told him numerous secrets, and he never told anyone them. . .”
“Okay fine. What’s done is done. That’s a good point, too . . . Maybe likes you? (O.O)”
“Really,” I replied, “I’ve never thought of that . . . Maybe he only told Ryan because he wanted Ryan to reject me. Then he probably thought I would go to him to be comforted . . . .”
“(O.O) Good thinking! Yeah, I think you’re right!”
“I’ll go ask him tomorrow. It’s Saturday tomorrow, so I’ll ask him then. Okay?”
“Okay! Break a leg (not literally)! =D Oh and I have to go. My mom’s screaming at me to go to sleep. >.> <.< >.>," Janice said.
    “Okay, good night!”
    “Good night!”
Now I’m alone for now. I guess I should practice for tomorrow. Eeep! I’m so scared!
