    ~She Was Alone~
Three people sat listing to a person speak, they listened so intently it was as if what the person said was telling them how to save the world. “Stacey VonStruck, Thirteen Years of Age. She works fixing houses destroyed by raids. She has no family and serves under Sheila. Stacey lives alone and has no permanent address. She is currently fixing a house in JeZquil near the City of Fairies. Profile, Blonde 5’1 Green eyes, scars on the back of her neck and her left bicep. She is fare skinned and could pass for an Elf. Weapons, unknown.” One of the people spoke, “This is the one who they supplied up with to save Elzra? I say kill them all.” Another said “ No, she will do, And if she fails then so be it but, I think she will make a nice heroine.” The third person nodded “So the gods have decided, this young girl is going to end the war and save all of Elzra.” The other two nodded and the one who spoke first now said “Let’s hope to hell she does not fail.”

    Chapter one
    ~She used a fork~
All of this mess and no one to help me clean it up! Stacey thought surveying the damage. There were overturned tables and chairs, broken glass, rotten food, and cigarette buds littering the floor. Clothing, blankets and silverware were scattered over the top with the new addition of dust, and mold. How did things get this way? she wondered taking a chair out into the yard to air out. When I last left this place it was neat, tidy, and open. She thought looking around. One look at the place told her that none of things were any longer true or possible.

Stacey had been working for several hours straight with little progress. The lawn was littered with tables chairs and the remains of a couch. She had filled four garbage bags and managed to cut her hands, arms and feet so badly that they were covered in band aids. But, still there is little progress. she thought sadly looking around. The once red carpet was now faded to a blackish brown and most of the furniture was not salvageable. Stacey had busted the front window open to let in some air, and light but all it had done was show how bad the place really looked. She sighed and continued to work.

It was near nightfall, the furniture sat in the yard, a large pile of garbage bags sat on the street corner and Stacey was looking at her progress. She had found a bunny living in the counter, a garden of mold growing in the fridge and a complete collection of empty beer cans. “Keeps getting better.” she said petting her new companion, the rabbit from under the counter. Stacey was going to sleep outside on the lawn because she was afraid of what might be inside. “You know what?” she said looking at the rabbit, “It’s not that bad. The place is still standing right?” she laughed and let herself fall into a light sleep.

Stacey woke to a crunching noise. She grabbed the closest thing to her, a fork, and moved towards the noise. She let her body fall to a crouch and when she got close enough to whatever it was she leapt, stabbing the fork into its shoulder and having it fall backwards on her, unconscious. The shape resembled a man, or boy about 6’4 with long hair and a weapon. She managed to push the boy off of her and look at his face. He looked regal and sharp with a skin tone that was the pale of a fairy. She recognized him from the court. Stacey had just stabbed the fairy prince in the shoulder. She was officially screwed.

Well, she couldn’t let him bleed to death so she treated his wounds. But, to treat his wounds she had to take off his armor. That fact alone made her want to leave him to bleed to death. After convincing herself that, it wasn’t okay to let the fairy prince bleed to death and that he probably had really nice abs, she managed to peel off his armor and survey his wound. Stacey had stabbed the fork very deeply into his flesh and the blood was still flowing out. Oh, and he had really nice abs.

The first step was to pull out the fork. Stacey pulled her long blonde hair back into a high ponytail on the top of her head. But, her hands had been covered with blood so now, she had blood in her hair. Eww. She put one leg on each side of him and grabbed the fork then she yanked. The fork came out and made her fly backwards.

She then cleaned the wound and put a bandage on and flipped him over once again to feel his heart beat. It was faint but still beating at a steady pace. Stacey smiled and couldn’t help but stay beside him. The smart idea would have been to run but, who said she was smart. She would stay until he woke then leave. Hopefully.

It was almost sunrise, and he finally stirred. The prince moaned in pain and reached out for something. Then his eyes fluttered open and he cried out . After that, like most people do when they’re hurt, he tried to sit up, and failed. Stacey just sat there watching him, afraid that he would lash out at her. The prince managed to turn his head and see her. “What the hell, did you do to me.” he asked. Stacey didn’t realize that he probably didn’t care but, she told him anyways “I stabbed you with a fork then, I treated your wound.” she said quietly. He groaned and went silent. It seemed like an eternity that he was quiet but he finally spoke. “Why?” he asked. “Because I thought you were a monster.” she said and he seemed to understand this. “Go back to sleep.” Stacey said and she stood up. “Wait, don’t leave me here.” he cried. Stacey looked at him surprised but understood. She wouldn’t want to be alone and vulnerable either. So, she managed to help him to his feet and help him walk back to the house Stacey had been at earlier.

It was daylight now, and the house looked a whole lot worse. “What happened to it?” the prince asked. “I don’t know.” Stacey answered simply. Then, the rabbit from under the counter hopped over and nuzzled Stacey because it wanted to be fed. She said “Hold on!” to the rabbit and helped the wounded prince into the house.

The prince was on a patch of clean floor, leaning against the wall where Stacey had broken the big picture window open. He slept while Stacey began to clean again. Man, was it harder to clean today. She was distracted by a handsome prince, an adorable bunny, and an aching stomach from not eating anything the day before. Somehow, she managed to finish cleaning the floor so all that remained was an open room with a broken window and a counter.
At lunchtime Stacey helped the prince outside and they ate rice and dry meat. “I never did,” the prince said biting into his meat “Catch your name.” Stacey looked at him, “My name is Stacey and what is your name prince?” He laughed, “I am Prince Azure or the Fairy kingdom.” Stacey nodded at him. “What are you doing out here anyways?” he asked and she looked at him “I’ll tell you later.” Stacey said with a smile and the subject was dropped.

Stacey scrubbed the floors and walls, she used more bleach than it was healthy to inhale and she managed to make the house more livable. Twilight was pulling at the edges of the sky as she scrubbed off the last table. Stacey had three bar table’s nine stools, and 12 blankets that were all salvageable. Everything else was to be burned or put in a toxic waste facility. “Why don’t you call it a night?” Azure asked stumbling over. He had been healing all day, stupid fairy blood making him stronger. Stacey had been distracted by him for most of the day, afraid that he might hurt himself or decide to leave. She had been lonely the day before and now, Stacey had someone to talk to and make her feel human again. She smiled at him and said “Fine but, its not my fault that we have to sleep outside tonight.” She said with a laugh. “I wouldn’t sleep in there anyway, I think it’s toxic with all of the bleach you use.” Azure replied, Stacey grinned and threw her bleach covered cloth at him. “Lets have a bonfire!” he said picking up a broken chair. “Fine, but you make sure it doesn’t burn my house down.“ she said watching him make a fire pit. “I won’t” he replied.

Stacey, Azure, and Henry (the counter rabbit) ate beside a bonfire that night. Stacey and Azure laughed and talked joyfully deep into the night then fell asleep when the full moon was high above there heads.

She woke that morning with her head atop a warm soft surface. Stacey realized exactly what she was resting her head on, Azure’s stomach, and it didn’t bother her at all. Stacey had only known the prince for one day but, she thought that she might love him. He moved slightly and said “Hey.” Softly. Stacey smiled “Hey.” She replied and was suddenly being moved. Azure had his strength back, and he had pulled her up to his shoulder level. “You’re freezing.” He said with a smile. “You’re shirtless.” Stacey replied. “Very true.” He said. Stacey rested her head on his shoulder. A very dangerous move for her but, he did not retaliate by pushing her away, he just smiled. Stacey looked at Azure, really looked and saw what she had been missing the day before. He had kind eyes and long black hair. His face was pale but not deathlike and scary. His eyes were an electric blue that made it seem like the world was brighter. He was so paralyzing in his looks, why was he still here with her? She didn’t want to know. She wanted to go back to sleep but, the pounding of hoofs thudded on the ground. Azure moved quickly standing up and pulling Stacey with him. A man on a white horse appeared through the peak of the woods and came to an abrupt stop just in front of Azure and Stacey. “Prince, we have been looking all over for you.” The man said in an icy voice, “Please come with us, your parents are sick with worry.” Azure nodded and said “One moment Rathsman.” He pulled Stacey out of the man’s sight. “Thank you for your kindness.” He said to her. “But, I must leave now.”
Stacey wanted to crawl into a hole and die at those words but, she held her ground. “Then I bid you a due.” She said turning away. Azure caught her hand and pulled Stacey back up close to him, “I will never forget you.” He said and kissed her, causing Stacey’s entire being to feel like she had been electrocuted. Then Azure turned and disappeared as Stacey fell to the ground curling up into a ball. Her once electric self became filled with ice.

Stacey woke the next day and worked to keep her mind off of him. It hurt too much to think about Azure. Stacey finished the house up, it was sanitary, and empty except for a few tables and chairs. This job was finished and she was getting as far away from here as possible and taking Henry with her.

She no longer herself old self. He had destroyed her old self.
