• The sun eerily creeped up onto the horizon, shining a dim light through the dreary clouds. Lucia slamed her door open, walking out onto the ship' starboard side. She peered out at the sea ahead of her. "At long last... I've finally removed myself from another damn town."
"Ah, the early bird gets the worm. Which must mean you don't want any worms." Al laughed heartily, chewing on the side of his knife.
"Crack another joke, and that knife will be chewing on you." Lucia turned back, glaring. "Get back to work dog."
Al grunted, pushing away from her. Only wanting a little fun, but with Lucia, it's impossible. Luke had watched the scene play, and sighed heavily. Al was a womanizer, searching for fun everywhere, but Lucia was serious buisness.
I wonder if she's ever been in love...? Luke thought, his thoughts interupted by Everly. The soft-haired blonde skipped along the edge, stopping at Lucia. She leaned over the edge, watching the sea and sneaking peeks at Lucia. She's the only one on this ship that Lucia doesn't hate. Yet, she was the stowaway. He returned to his work.
"Everly... do you think that we should stop? My crew is awfully ornery, and I think they need a break." Lucia asked, her eyes still glued to the ocean.
"Well, I know a bar would make Al happy, and a few days on port might help. Even world dominators need a break." Everly and Lucia laughed lightly. Luke's eyes shot up. Everly left, walking to him. "So, what's Sir Luke up to?"
"You made her laugh. Herron and I...haven't heard her laugh since we were children." He inquired.
"Oh. Well, I'm glad to have made her laugh. She has a good heart, I just know it. We just have to dig deeper. I have chores to tend to. Goodbye for know Luke." With that, she skipped away to the kitchen, leaving Luke speechless.
