• The two lambs in the restaurant, even the remaining pack of wolves in the corner all froze in shock, forks and cigarettes adrift in mid – air, halfway between their owner’s crusty lips and hairy fingers.

‘Cassandra Give that man what he came here for and get him out of here now!’ whispered the head maid, whose figure closely resembled that of a stick insect, in the ear of the maid responsible for waiting the tables. ‘y-yes Madame’ the younger waitress stammered in surprise, thinking to herself as she lifted a huge white plate filled to the brim with a steaming roast dinner, why it was always left up to her to deal with all the weirdoes who staggered through the front door everyday, even if that person had previously ripped the said door clean off its hinges!

After deliberately delaying her confrontation with the large man for several minutes Cassandra, the maid, finally crossed over to Bambino’s table and set the over grown plate down carefully in front of him between his outstretched arms, which were just as beefy as the meat in his dinner . As soon as the warm steam hit his flared nostrils Bambino began at once to hungrily tuck into his first square meal in at least couple of days. In fact unsurprisingly it took no time at all for him to span the whole length and breadth of the plate, even to lap up every gravy and potato stain left over.

Once finished the giant man rose from his tiny chair, accidentally causing the legs to screech across the bare floor boards. But perhaps that could not have been helped due to the fact that the chair itself was screaming under the weight of him, and plodded slowly towards the maids who in their fear had huddled behind the safety of the bar. Slowly reaching into his dark green trouser pocket Bambino pulled out three battered copper coins, and dropped them carelessly onto the desk in front of them.

‘For the food’ he mumbled from beneath the forest on his face. Both women said nothing and just stared awkwardly at his massive physic bearing down on them, and continued to do so even once he had disappeared through the gap in the wall that had at some point in its life been the front entrance. Once he was seemingly out of sight both women sighed deeply at the same time in relief that finally everything was back to normal, even the sudden thud of twelve scum covered hands upon their pristine table tops was not enough to sway them from their joy. However their happiness was short lived, for at that moment there came another sound of falling building matter from just outside the inn. Cassandra’s aunt, who happened to be the head maid, quickly rushed to the frame and to her utter amazement there was Bambino again but this time he was, bent kneed making him look even more colossal than before, that he actually blocked most of the raze of the sun from coming in behind him, as his mighty arms effortlessly pushed the wooden door upwards from the desert sand back into its original place.

Staring for a couple of seconds at his attempt at clearing up after himself, his hands pressed firmly against the wood, Bambino nodded, as he turned on his tail and began again on his way plodding down through the desert street. Whilst behind him the walls of the inn either side of the door began to crack.
