• The tears rolled down her face onto the piece of lined paper she was writing on. Her small hand gripped a purple crayon tighter as her hands began to wobble and shake. She was only 6 years old, it had been twelve weeks since her father went on his trip, he had promised to write her every day. His smile was the last thing she remembered, he was only suppose to be gone for three days but when the time came for him to come home, she stood at the end of the driveway waiting, but he never came. The letters stopped and everyone had given up hope, but not her, no, she would never give up hope. She kept writing her letters to him. Eventually the mail man stopped taking them, so she decided to take them to the docks. She stared down at the bottle in her hands as tears ran down her face, she had to be strong but it was so hard when everyone had already given up and forgotten, but she never would. He was her daddy, she loved him more than the earth and the stars combined, she would never give up. She bent down and placed her small bottle in the blue waves of liquid and watched as it was carried farther and farther away from her. Her hands gripped at her dress as the wind blew chillingly, but she wouldn't stop watching her bottle , it was all she had left.
