I slowly bustled through the dark city and looked only down. No one passed me. No one was able to see me. I was as dead as...
A dead frog lay on the ground by the street. Yeah. As dead as that frog.
Then, Something hopped by my feet. I looked down, holding my hand to it before realizing I couldn't catch it. But then something wierd happened; A small frog leaped into my hand.
I looked at it, then the dead frog on the street side. I turned, looking aroound and dropping the frog. Something wierd ran through my head, telling me the frog was a spirit... I looked at the graveyard and was able to notice pale people rising from their place perched on the patch of dirt that were graves, maybe putting flowers down on it. They began to leave, walking out of the yard and looking sad, down.
One was running; a teenage girl. She had pale brown hair and sapphire eyes streaming water ouyt of them. She was dashing across the empty street, screaming.
She ran up to me, grabbing my shoulders. "What's happening!?"
I looked around to see who she was talking to. I gave her a confused look, pointing to myself.
"Yes, you! Who else is here?"
My eyes widened. "Can... You see me?"
"Yes, of course!" She cried. "Your in blind sight! Now tell me, what's going on!?"
I was finally able to make out her a little better; wearing tattered jeans and a tank top, ripped. Bruises spotted her legs and arms, fresh wounds on her face. "Are you okay?"
"Like, five minutes ago, I was in some man's house..." She stutterd, pulling away. "And now," She played with her hands. "now, I'm outside a graveyard!"
"What happened?" I tried to sound conciterate.
"I was stolen after school..." She cried, Looking around. "Some man, he was stalking me for months. Now, he stole me, and he raped me...' She was barely talking normally now. "He hit me, and attacked me, I was sure I'd died..."
My mind went blank at the end of the sentence. "Died?" I said quietly as if someone would hear.
"That's all we are," An old woman smiled, passing us. "Dead."
The girl stared at the woman as she floated away, literally floated, singing to herself.
"Wait," I called. "Are you telling me...?"
"Yes," The woman smiled. "You have died and this is the next world. our world. I didn't believe in God, or Heaven, I believed this is all we do upon death. Rise as spirits and roam around untul we find peace in death and are able to be happy. You will never go anywhere else but here. You cannot run anywhere. No one knows you are here. You are just dead." And she moved on, humming an old tune.
The girl coughed, staring at me. "We're... Dead?"
"Yep," i looked away. "Wait; rose..."
    "Who?"
"M-My friend!" I stuttered. "What if the man that shot me will try to hide up the crime? What if he hurts her!?"
"You heard the lady," The girl said bluntly. "We can't do squat."
    "Well," I sighed. "I'm Seth."
"Amy." The girl held her hand out.
I shook it and looked around. "Okay," I smiled evilly. "Let's break a loophole in Death; let's go fight life and come back to save her."
