• A Mad Man's Wish

"I just want to get to the point of this entire war first."

"Hatter, no. She musn't know why-"

"Rabbit. I know what I'm doing. She must know if she is going to help us. Alice, she wants you dead."

The black haired teen didn't move. Didn't blink. Didn't speak. The only thing that happened was that she sunk to the floor on her knees. Cheshire nuzzled her side in attempt of comfort. "What?"

Hatter sighed heavily and gazed out the window as Rabbit did his best to re-wrap the wound. The insane man winced at the pain but still kept his eyes stern. "After you humiliated her, The Queen of Hearts wants you dead. She has ripped apart Wonderland just to find you." He paused and held his hand against the bandages as soon as Rabbit was done. "That's why this place appears the way it does."

Alice tried hard to absorb all this information. Both Rabbit and Cheshire watched as their friend's face twisted in confusion and suddenly shock and realization. Rabbit scowled at the floor while Cheshire held Alice against him. "There, there our little Alice. We don't blame this on you," he tried to comfort.

"'Tis true Alice. None of what has happened to us so far is of your fault. As soon as the Queen began hunting you down, Cheshire, Rabbit and I formed a rebellion against her. All of those loyal to Wonderland have joined us. They are in hiding now, waiting for the signal. Until that time we will have to protect you to the best of our abilities." Alice stared at Hatter incredulously.

"That bombing squad was awefully close to the Windmill. We should hide you before-"

"Before what, White Rabbit?" All eyes were averted towards the door. A tall, black reptile man stood at the door. He wore a black heart on his oddly shaped red armor. The reptile golden eyes gleamed vily at the black haired teen across the room. "Ah, who do we have here," he hissed.

Hatter stepped in front of Alice before she replied. "She is none of your buisness. She is simply a guest here," he said, eyes narrowed at the lizard man. The said reptile stuck his forked tounge out at him and shoved him against the chair.

"Ssssit down Hatter. Take a chill pill. I won't hurt her," he sneered. Alice's hands formed fists as the rank smelling thing walked towards her. He stuck his scaly finger underneath her chin and lifted it up. "What'sss your name, sssweetheart?"

    "Who."

"What'sss your name?" he asked a little clearer.

"My name is Who. Who Whatsitwhere." The lizard blinked a few times before glaring at her and turning back. As the lizard left, he glanced back at Alice once more. Scoffing, he turned away and disappeared.

Cheshire came out from under the table and studied Alice a moment. The was taller than her five-year-old self, her hair was black and choppy, she was lean, and her style was much different than the blue dress. "Well, you certainly don't look like the Alice she remembers," the infamous cat pointed out.

Hatter studied her a bit too. The noisy cat was right. "Um, Rabbit, how did you know this was Alice? She looks nothing like the Alice I remember," Hatter said as he pulled on his shirt and vest.

Rabbit now too understood why the others were confused. He smiled happily. "It's quite simple really. One, her blonde roots are growing back in. Two, her voice hasn't changed much since then and she still curious about the world. Three she knew who I was and who everyone else was. And finally, four, her eyes are still the same color." Cheshire looked as if his brain broke. Hatter, on the other hand, nodded.

He walked closer to Alice and lifted her chin so that her eyes met his own. The same, ocean blue eyes sparkled right back at him. "Yes. This is Alice," Hatter mused. The teen brushed his hand aside and looked at the other too.

    "What do we from here?"
