• Death

--- the act of dying; the end of life; the total
and permanent cessation of all the vital functions of an organism.

    ---

And Death watched the human experiencing his final moment, his final
    breaths on in life.

There was no more life on planet earth now, beside the most smallest
and insignificant of organisms, and Death had never had any interest
    in such low creatures.

For while they were vital to the survival of the larger, more
intelligent and more interesting beings on this planet, Death didn't
    care for them.

No, mankind was Death's loved ones, Death's children.

For no creature in history had brought so much death and destruction
to the enviorment and everything living as humans had.

And that made Death love them, care for them, hate them, loathe them
    more than any other.

After a while, humans was the only being that Death truely affected.
Other things died, sure - but no one took real notice of it anymore.

Not Death, not the Universe, not the Earth and not even the living.

And so, Death's life was tied to those Death served, to the living
    human beings.

And now, after eons, after a time alive far longer than anything in
this universe could remember, even longer than Death itself could
remember, Death was going to die, to cease to exist.

For after many strange eons have passed, even Death itself may die.

And so, with the last breath of the dying human, Death stopped breathing.
