• "Tell me what you want to hear."

He could see her silhouette against the brightness of the sun. She stood on the ledge of a twelve story building.

"I don't know." she closing her eyes only for a second before reopening them to look at the city that stood before her.

"I don't know if there really ever was something I wanted to hear."

"There has to be something." He said his voice the only sound she could hear.

    "Don't you get it?"

"No, I don't." He snapped, stepping closer to her.

"That's okay, you don't have to."

"You're still going to jump?" He asked his voice cracking as he broke into tears. The pain of her decision enough to take him to his knees.

"Yes." She spoke lightly, afraid of hurting him more and wishing he hadn't showed up.

"You don't want to be saved?" He asked his voice just a whisper.

    "No."

"What if you change your mind half way down?"

She smiled, wishing she could see him, but knowing it was best if he couldn't see her face.

    "I wont."

"This isn't far!" He screamed, outraged and desperate to change her mind.
"You can't do this to me. You can't just leave me like this. Why are you doing this to me?"

    "Goodbye Nathan."

"No, no, if you do this I'll jump too." He said his words coming rushed. He was panicking.

    "No, you wont."

"I will." He said his voice wavering. It was a bluff and she knew it.

"Goodbye Nathan." She said again before letting herself fall forward off the edge.

She heard him screaming her name the whole way down, but he never fallowed.
