• The Nine Divines of Avalon


    The High Divine (History)
    The High Divine started out as a child who always picked a fight with everyone he met, anywhere he went. He constantly suffered minor contusions from the many fights he's been in and became somewhat of a warrior at the age of seven. At that age, he was stronger and more skilled than most adult warriors around. He had also disovered a hidden power within himself around that age. He found that he could use the power of light as his weapon, control the tides and shift the phases of he moon. It was strange at first but then he learned to better utilize it for his own purposes. If it weren't for his younger brother, who is always by his side, he would forever be picking fights with everyone he met, and abusing the use of his power. He and his brother grew up in a small town called Vale, where the times were harsh and the people were harsher. Poverty was all that met him at every corner, and he had to lie and steal in order to survive. As he grew older, he became wiser and a great leader. When he was only ten years of age, the demons broke loose from hell and ravished the land like never before. Volcanoes erupted green flames, the land sundered to reveal the flames of hell, and the sky wept massive fireballs. The end of the world was upon them, as the Four Princes of Hell were aiming to get free, and there was no one to stand against them. At the age of fifteen, he and his friend had founded the Divine Order of Avalon. A group formed with the sole purpose of saving the world and killing the evil Princes, thus ending their reign of evil. They recruited seven other members, people who were believed in what they were doing, people who had powers that they were born with, powers that can be used to combat the demons.

    Abilities: The High Divine has the power to control light and shift the phases of the moon at his will. The light can become any form of weapon, it can be used for healing, it can destroy everything in its path if it ever got out of control. When he shifts the phases of the moon, he is also able to control temperature and humidity to an extent. Depending on the temperature and humidity, mist may occur over a large area. He also has control over the tides. can however be more greatly amplified by the Shard of The Magic In-Between Realms of Twilight.

    Weapons: He is skilled in the use of many weapons. Swords, daggers, etc. He can use them all to their full extent. He carries a sword with him wherever he goes. This is somewhat of a magical sword, that is sharper than any other and can never be dulled.



    The Divine of Wisdom and Logic (History)
    The Divine of Wisdom and Logic is the younger brother of The High Divine of Time. They have been by each other's side ever since birth. He was always the more logical of the two and loathes physical combat greatly and prefers tactical combat instead. He would rather spend most of his time reading or trying to attain more knowledge. He found out when he was only seven years old that he could write something in a book and it happened the exact way it was written. He had decided one day that he would test this. So he went and stole an empty book from a nearby vendor one day, brought it to his brother and showed him what he could do. He wrote in the book that they would have many fruits to eat, and in that instant after he had finished writing, all kinds of different fruits appeared before them. Just like his brother, he grew up in poverty. Everywhere they went they were greeted by suffering and sadness. Things went on this way until that dreadful day when things got worse. The demons broke loose, the Four Princes themselves were attempting to gain freedom. The demons left destruction in their wake, and spared no one. He and his brother tried to stand up to the demons, but they weren't strong enough to stop all of them completely in their young age. His brother had formed The Divine Order of Avalon, a group that was bent on defeating the Four Princes and freeing the world. They recruited seven other members, people who had powers such as they did.

    Abilities: The Divine of Wisdom and Logic has vast knowledge and has the ability to alter reality with written words. He can write something in any book and it becomes true. He could write that rain begins to fall and the rain will fall. He could write that a person becomes ill and that person becomes ill. He cannot simply write a person's death and that person just dies. He has to write the different means and conditions of that person's death, as in they were attacked by vicious animals, or attacked by an angry mob, etc. This power can be used against the lesser demons easily, but is very limited on the greater demons. He also has the power to bring the many creatures found in story books, into reality. A book could contain the story of a troll, he could bring the troll out of the book and into existence. If the creature in the book is related to a greater demon, he cannot bring that creature into reality. The creatures must obey his every command without question. His powers can be amplified by the Shard of Knowledge and Memory.

    Weapons: His only weapons are books and his brain. He loathes the use of weapons. He is not as fit or as powerful physically as The High Divine of Time, but his knowledge makes up for it. He carries a black book with him wherever he goes. This is somewhat of a magical book, and the book can never be filled no matter how many times it is used.



    The Divine of Beauty (History)
    The Divine of Beauty has always been coveted by both men and women everywhere she went. Everyone would always offer her things wherever she went, without her asking for it. When she did ask, they went head over heels to please her. She grew up in a mansion with her parents and a jealous sister. The reason for her sister's jealousy was because she got everything she wanted while her sister only got what she needed. As she grew older and became seven years of age, she realized that the captivation she held people under was a kind of power that was unique to her. She had been using this power subconsciously for the first six years of her life, but now she used it knowingly to get her way. This went on until the day came when she lost everything. The Four Princes were trying to get free, and sent their horde of demons to wreak havoc and destruction on the land. Her mother died while trying to protect her from one of the demons. Her father was with the army, trying to fend off the onslaught, but it was useless and he died in the process. Her sister didn't care that her parents had died, she only wanted revenge on her sister. She had made a deal with the demons to allow her to join them and use their powers to kill her sister. They had granted her the power she had wanted, but in the process, she became a mindless beast and had no control over her actions. The Divine of Beauty was attacked by her sister, but did not recognize her. She used her power to command her sister to turn against the others. As her sister turned away from her and began to attack the other demons, they killed her violently. She had ran and hid from the demons, and then she heard a commotion nearby and went to look. She saw two others using some strange powers to fend off the creatures. She decided to help them and together, they drove off the demons. They introduced themselves to each other and she was offered by the two to join in The Divine Order of Avalon. She accepted and since that day, they had fought many demons and saved many civilians with their powers.

    Abilities: The Divine of Beauty is very beautiful and can captivate the hearts of both men and women. She has been given the nickname Siren. Her power allows her to command people and demons alike to do her bidding. She can have them do anything she wants and they cannot resist the urge to please her. This power is very limited on the greater demons however, but works perfectly on lesser demons. She can use her beautiful voice to captivate the hearts of many in a crowd by song alone. She could sing before a crowd of demons or humans, and they would be bent to her will. The Shard of Pestilence amplifies her powers greatly.

    Weapons: She is very skilled in the use of a whip that she carries with her wherever she goes. She has many ways of using it to carry out tasks. It is somewhat of magical whip and can cut a demon in half with but a crack.



    The Divine of Birth and Death (History)
    The Divine of Birth and Death has lived a secluded life away from everyone. His parents kept him in the house, out of everyone's sight. They thought he was a complete threat to everyone and everything around him, and some thought he was an angel come to save them. While he was only a little boy, anyone who was alive that he touched would suddenly fall to the ground, dead. If he touched someone who was dead, they would suddenly come back to life. He had no control over this power when he was little, and so his parents were afraid of him and kept him locked up. When he was seven years of age, he learned to control the power and he used it on his parents, causing them to die with only a look. He caused the locks that bound him in the room to suddenly break apart as if death were not only restricted to living things, and allowing him freedom. Years passed after his freedom, and then one day, the demons came and wreaked havoc. They killed everyone, sparing neither mother nor child. He had caused many of them to die, but there were simply too many and he could not fight them, all on his own. That was when the Divine Order of Avalon came. They helped him to fight off the demons, chasing them away and saving the town. After the demons fled, he brought back the dead people to life. The Divine Order offered him a place among them. He accepted and they all fought to protect the world, and they also hunted the Four Princes.

    Abilities: The Divine of Birth and Death has the power to grant life and death. He started out with only being able to cause a person to die with a touch, then his powers got more potent and he became able to kill a person with a look. He can also bring the dead back to life. The power of life and death is very limited on greater demons. This is a power that he loathes greatly, but he uses it in order to end the war quickly. The Shard of Life and Death amplifies his powers greatly.

    Weapons: He doesn't carry a weapon, as he doesn't think it is necessary with his kind of power.



    The Divine of Nature (History)
    The Divine of Nature has always been surrounded by evergroing vegetation anywhere she went. She grew up without a family, but has never felt lonely. The animals have always been around her and she even called them her family. Everywhere she stepped while she was only a little girl, beautiful flowers would grow. She had no control over her powers at this age. As she grew older, she found that she could harness all the powers of nature and use them however she pleased. The animals would come to her aid in times of trouble, as if they were her guardians. She could use trees as weapons, she could sharpen a blade of grass with but a thought and have it cut someone. She could cause earthquakes, cause volcanoes to erupt, cause hurricanes, and many other natural disasters, and control them however she pleased. The day came though when the demons attacked her hometown. They came like a flood, washing over the land and bringing destruction wherever they went. She decided that she would protect the town with her powers. So she caused all sorts of disasters to befall the demons. The disasters evaded the humans as if they knew that the humans were not their enemies. She managed to drive the demons off on her own. After a few days had passed, The Divine Order was passing through her town. They noticed that the town was dilapidated and in ruins. They asked the people what had happened and who it was that drove the demons away. The people pointed them in the direction of the girl who had single-handedly drove them away. They helped her heal the wounded, and offered her a place among them. She accepted, wanting revenge on the demons for what they had done.

    Abilities: The Divine of Nature has the ability to control the forces of nature with ease. She can cause all sorts of natural disasters, she has even learned to combine the forces of nature in a unique way. This power seems to have a will of its own, because while she sleeps, and anything would try to harm her, nature would come to her aid and she has no conscious memory of ever using her powers. No demon, lesser or greater is safe from this power, as nature is absolute. The Shard of Destruction greatly amplifies her natural powers.

    Weapons: She has never had the need for a weapon before.



    The Divine of Love (History)
    The Divine of Love has always been coveted by both men and women. She was loved by everyone, no matter how young or how old they were. Her powers are always active, so she has no control over it. People always try to court her, wanting to be hers. She would always turn them away and run away crying. She knew that they didn't love her of their own free will, and she was sad about it. The day when the demons came, they attacked everyone in the town she lived in, but overlooked her and never even raised an attack against her. She stood helplessy, as there was nothing she could do to stop the attack. The Divine Order arrived later, driving the demons away, thus rescuing the town. They had noticed that she was the only one who was unharmed. They went to her and asked her why the demons didn't attack her and she told them of her strange power. She realized that they were unaffected by her power and asked them how. They had no answer for her to this question. They had offered her a position among them, but she refused, as she explained that she would not be of much help to them on their journey. She stayed behind as they left. A few years had passed and she discovered that she could control her powers. She also found that she could control the darker natures of man. She could invoke and make more potent, their feeling of lust, sloth, gluttony, and all the others. She had realized that now she might be able to help The Order in their quest and so she sought them out. She found them a few days later and accepted their offer. They all continued on together.

    Abilities: The Divine of Love has the ability to invoke the sinful natures of humanity within people. She can cause people to kill each other or start great wars among themselves over the most trivial of things. She can cause great lazines to befall an entire city, etc. She can also make a person fall in love with her. Her powers work in a different manner when used on demons. She can cause them to suddenly fall under a kind of trance and fight for her and do whateber she pleased. The Shard of Depravity amplifies her power.

    Weapons: She is very skilled in the use of a bow. She carries with her a magical bow, that does not seem to need physical arrows to use. She can simply pull on the bowstring and an arrow of light forms.



    The Accursed Divine (History)
    The Accursed Divine lived a normal life free of powers and problems until the age of ten. That was when he discovered that he was a menace to evryone and everything around him. Anywhere he went, plants would wither, illness would befall even the healthiest of persons, buildings would crumble suddenly. He became a pariah once his powers were revealed. People tried to avoid him at all cost, and by any means necessary. He had tried for many years to harness his powers and control it for use only when needed, but it was not quite that simple. The day of the demon attack came, and he found that any demon that came close to him would be reduced to dust in an instant. He tried harnessing his powers once again, and this time he was awarded with results. He caused many of the demons to just turn into dust as they came. Some would suddenly become crippled and unable to move about, some would cry out in pain, some would just die, some were struck by lightning, some fell into very deep holes that opened in the ground and closed almost instantly. Many more execrations befell the demons, until only a few were left, and they fled. He had learned in that moment how to control his power, and people feared him still, but learned to tolerate him. The Order arrived on the scene and asked what had happened and who had stopped the attack. They were pointed to the man who saved them and they offered him a place among them. He accepted and they continued their excurtion.

    Abilities: The Accursed Divine has the power to invoke curses on all things. These curses range from withering plants, to causing illness, to forming lightning clouds over an area, etc. This power cannot be used to kill a human instantly, but it can be used in this way for a lesser demon. The Shard of Curses amplifies his powers greatly.

    Weapons: He uses a magical longsword. This sword can extend its length or reduce it to any extent the wielder chooses.



    The Divine of Dreams (History)
    The Divine of Dreams has led a less than normal life. She has always had visions of events that had occured, are occuring right now, or are about to occur. She alaways had these visions in a dream. People looked at her with respect and gratitude wherever she went. They knew of her gift and were happy for it, because it always warned them of impending danger or of any other matters. As the years passed, she found that she could have visions without being asleep. She could be walking normally and a vision came to her. One day, she had had a vision of the day when the demons would attack. She warned everyone she met of her vision, and they immediately did as she asked and vacated the town. The day of the attack actually came just as she predicted it, but the demons never found their targets, because there was no one to attack. They did destroy the town however, leaving it in ruins and not sparing even the smallest bit of vegetation. When she returned to the village with everyone, they saw that there was nothing left, but they were not sad, instead they thanked her profusely for saving them. The Order had come at that moment and overheard what the girl had done. They offered her position among them and she accepted. She had practiced the use of her power while she was with them and now she found that she could plant images and dreams into peoples minds. She could also plant images or hallucinations that cause psychological terrors into the minds of people.

    Abilities: The Divine of Dreams has the power to have visions, cause others to have visions, and even see through the eyes of others and know what they are thinking if they allow her to. This power is good for communicating silently with others when they don't want to risk being overheard. She also found that she could cause hallucinations to befall people. Her powers are also useful on demons. The demons that are more stupid can easily be affected by the implanting of hallucinations, she can also force visions and thoughts unto them, and see through their eyes and also know their thoughts without their consent. The more intelligent demons can only be affected by the hallucinations, but only to an extent. The Shard of Dreams and Nightmares amplifies her powers greatly.

    Weapons: She does not use weapons.



    The Divine of War (History)
    The Divine of War has always been, and is to this day a trouble-maker. He is impulsive and makes rash decisions most of the time. While he was growing up in his hometown, he got into many fights and always won them. He discovered in later years that he had the power of shape-shifting. He could alter his shape and size in any way he pleased. He could become someone else, he could become an object, he could become the most vile of mythical creatures around, he could become a tree, etc. This power has been put to use by him to pull many pranks and trick many people. The day of the attack, he tried to single-handedly take on all the demons, he was more than capable of fighting them all on his own, but he was not fast enough to save evryone in the village. Some of them died as he tried to fight as many of the demons as possible. The Order came at that moment and helped him to finish off the rest of the demons. They had seen him fight and offered him a position among them. He refused at first but then he thought better of it. He joined them and they all continued their journey.

    Abilities: The Divine of War has the ability to alter his apppearance into many shapes and sizes. He can take the forms of things as illustrious as mythical creatures, wild beasts, people, etc. He utilizes this ability to its fullest by changing into many cretures that are unkown by anyone. The Shard of the Hunt amplifies his abilities and allows him to change the forms of people and objects.

    Weapons: He uses magical leather gloves. When he hits something or someone with his fists while wearing the gloves, he can make the attack become as light as a feather's touch, or as heavy and devastating as a megaton hammer, Or even anywhere in between those two. He is very skilled in many forms of hand to hand combat.


    The Nine Divines of Avalon have become a family throughout the time they've been together. They live together in a mansion that they built, but they leave it most of the time to fight the demons and protect the people. The Mansion is protected by all the powers of the Nine Orders. The time manipulation, the reality distortion, the bending of wills, sudden death, nature, captivation, curses, and hallucinations. The demons try to avoid the Mansion at all cost, although most of the unintelligent ones wander around at times. The Nine Divines are on a quest to stop the Four Princes and rid the world of all the demons and evil. They will not be deterred by anyone or anything. The Nine Divines are not affected by the more passive abilities within their group. Meaning that the Divine of Love cannot cause another member of the Nine Divines to fall in love with her. (That was an example of one.)




    The Four Princes of Hell


    Satan: The High King (History)
    Satan is the High King of Hell since the late king went missing. He is a ruthless leader, very cunning, unforgiving, powerful, all the things that a leader should have to strike fear in his subordinates. He had come to assume his place on the throne after a life of scheming and plots. He finally managed to overthrow the former high king of hell, Wastorr, who was one to hold the piece and leave the people of earth to live their lives. Satan found a way to seal Wastorr's powers into nine shards and scatter them all over the world where they would never be found by anyone, then send him away without his memories to live among the humans. He stole the throne for himself and has ever since ruled all of Hell with his power.

    Lucifer: The King (History)
    Leviathan is one of the Kings of Hell. He has always been since Wastorr was High King. He got tired of the old king's methods and joined Satan in his plot to overthrow him. He has served under Satan ever since that day.

    Belial: The King (History)
    Belial is one of the Kings of Hell. He has always been since Wastorr was High King. He got tired of the old king's methods and joined Satan in his plot to overthrow him. He has served under Satan ever since that day.

    Leviathan: The King (History)
    Leviathan is one of the Kings of Hell. He has always been since Wastorr was High King. He is the only one who followed his former master without question, and approved of his methods. When he was being overthrown, he did nothing to stop it, and has ever since that day regretted it. Now he grudgingly follows Satan's rule and tries to find a way to return Wastorr to his former glory.
