While Kaitlin ran, Skylar fought. Currently, things weren't going as great as she was hoping for. The fifteen year old was on her back, her elbow supporting all her weight as her free hand was raised above her face. Her bow, which was a large, and made of sharp wood, was just out of reach. The demon above her had managed to knock it out when she had been contacting Kaitlin. So now, Sky was stuck in a defense position, and not enjoying it one bit.

A soul hunter should never be taken off guard --no matter why my rank is so bad! She gave a huff of annoyance, her father would not be proud of this. Or at least, thats' what she figured. Skylars dad, Johnathan Young, had died nine years ago on his sons birthday. While her little brother, Samuel, had disappeared from Earth. It was difficult for Skylar to tell if her brother was still alive, he could have been slaughtered by now. But she had a feeling their was a reason the demon had attacked them, and that somewhere out in the universe the little boy was still breathing.

Clenching her teeth, Skylar glanced up at now her predator. This demon was easily known to be powerful, she estimated he was around the six-hundreds. Since the demon society was made out of roughly four hundred thousand, this guy was pretty high up. And right now, Sky was getting a good dose of his venom.

"Che-che-che!" The thing called out, somewhat like a threat. Demons couldn't really talk- it was their one flaw- but they could mimic noises. This one sounded like a single cicada. Very annoying, pleasant far from it. Besides the unwanted noise, it also wasn't very cute looking. The demon was a mix of human and.. beast. Its head was shaped as an oval, with small pointed ears on each side. The face looked almost perfectly human, two eyes, a nose, and a mouth. But inside the mouth was large, sickly long, razor teeth. Hands reached out to her, with fingernails that grew to the demons command. Right now they were reaching for her chest, wanting direct connection with her heart. "Che-che-cheee!"

"Ick!" The dark haired girl rolled to the side, giving her elbow a scream of pain. Skylar had rolled on it wrong and was now suffering from it. But it didn't escape the claws, instead they just bend in ways no nails should, following her. Sky was on her butt now, pushing herself up into a kneeling position. Her arrows pulled out, pointed; target sighted. She leaned forward a bit, for a better hit, but was taken off guard from another movement- she could already tell it wasn't Kaitlin.

"Haza! Help has finally arrived fair maiden!"

Oh. Great. Skylar fumbled for an arrow, which recently had been right on point was now off focus. Pointed at her shoe. But she didn't have anymore time, the demon had found its target. "Che-che-che!" Sky felt suddenly slammed back, and yet pulled forward. The demon had gripped her soul hunting armor, but a foot had smacked her right on her chin and forced her back. The huntress coughed, stunned, before feeling herself kicked back by yet another foot- away from the demon. "Oof!" She glanced up at the culprit, and blinked to find Kaitlin there smiling. Her snow white hair was tucked in her beanie- which wasn't hard since it was so short - and already in her armor. That was Kat, the modest beauty.

"Sorry didn't want you to be bits!" Kaitlin called out before turning and running back to the demon. But it was already half dead, for the person that had made Skylar lose her concentration was her best guy friend, Ryan Parks. Ryan was a very high ranked soul hunter for their age- in the three hundred thousands, and was a genius really. But he was also gifted by the Gods for unknown reason to be hot as well. His hair was a silky bright red, which only made his green eyes go brighter. He was the guy to be, besides his lame catch phrases.

"Its okay Kat, this guy is a piece of cake!" Ryan assured, unaware that this demon was a huge issue for both Kaitlin and Skylar.

"Y-you'll get hurt though!" Kat always stuttered around Ryan, though she claimed no love between them.

There was a moment pause, in which Skylar had to prompt herself up to see what was going on. Ryan had managed to get his gun on the demons chest- and fire a direct hit. The soul bullet didn't even go halfway through the monsters heart before it fell to the ground, dead. Ever so calmly, Ryan whipped the sweat off his brow and stuck his gun in his pants- very gentlemanly- before a mist arose from the demons decaying body. Its soul.

Instinctively, everyone in the trio held out their watches, begging for a little bit of the demons soul. Skylar got most of it, since she had fought it the most - even if Ryan set the final blow. She was happy to notice that catching the demon had sent her up one spot in the rank. Now she was officially 899,191. It caused her to smirk, ha.

Though it wasn't long until her attention was back up at the two, who where also checking their rating. It seemed only Skylar's improved, which was too be expected. She did have the worst rank. "So.." Sky put her elbows on her knees, studying her two best friends. "Did any of you understand our math homework?"
