• "Of all those born of Lady Anterrial there has never been a man destined for greater glory than that one true Knight, his name inspiring tale after tale as his legend grew. But the story I tell is not that of Fancy and Legend but that of truth and valour, for this true story of a true hero. The tale of the Knight Valiant."
-Excerpt from the Tales of Valiant and Vandrance as written by Grimould Tyvor.

Jacob made his way through the battlefield in search of his target, the man the Crown of Archadia hired him to apprehend. But the field of war is never so easy to navigate, Jacob did his best to avoid getting caught in single combat against the Traitor's soldiers, hoping as he was that once the head of this great wyrm was cut that they would surrender arms and disband, but Lady Kima obviously had other plans for him as a young Rebel swung his sword crudely in his direction. Jacob dodged the poorly executed attack and spun around to the young mans back and swept the youngling's feet out from under him, and kept him there with a swift blow to the head with his sword hilt. "Sorry about that." Jacob whispered to himself with a grim humoured smile. As he stood and turned from his unconscious foe a break in the fighting revealed his target to him, Lord Ribald Sorrensson. Mounted upon a great black charger rode the furious Traitor Lord in his best General's Regalia holding high a splendid silver sword that had never once seen the outside of it's scabbard till this day. "There you are..." Jacob muttered to himself unimpressed with the man the Crown had sent him to apprehend, he strode forward through the clash of arms stopping only once to deal another stunning blow to the head of yet another unfortunate youth. Once he was close enough that he was certain he would be heared he declared himself to his enemy and demanded his attention. "Lord Ribald Sorrensson, by the Order of Queen Esme of Archades I demand that you throw down your arms and submit to arrest peacefully. Will you comply?" The Traitor responded to his challenge by bringing his charger around and spurring it on in an attempt to trample him beneath it's spiked hooves, expecting such a cowardly tactic Jacob waited until the last second to pivot out of harms way, trailing the blade of his sword along the exposed knees of the horse as he went, effectively forcing a rather abrupt and painful looking dismount on the young Lor. He began to walk a slow steady circle around his fallen foe, giving the man the time he needed to right himself and properly face him. "Just who the hell are you?!" The flustered and now battered Ribald spat angrily, as he crawled out from under his mount and to his feet shakily. Jacob stopped pacing to stand at attention and inclined his head in respect to the man's station as he solemnly replied. "Sir Jacob Valiant, Knight Errant and enforcer of the Anterran Commonlaw. I am here on behalf of the people of Anterrial to bring you to justice for your crimes against the people of Archades." Ribald's face contorted with hatred as he spat, "To the Gates with Archades and her b***h Queen Esme!" By now combatants from both sides had formed a circle around the two and now stood breathlessly awaiting the outcome that would either end the battle with the Lord's death or spur it on with Jacob's death.

"And just what crimes does the false Queen accuse me of foolish Knight?!" Lord Sorrensson demanded, "The Crown has charged you with Treason, and murder. You are without the rights of Trail and will either submit to imprisonment without Trial or you will forfeit your life to me. Will you now accept your fate as has been ordained by the Commonlaw of Anterrial, or shall you resist?" Jacob replied respectfully. "To the Gates with the Commonlaws, I will have what I deserve! The Crown of Archades belongs to me! I am not the one who has usurped another's rightful throne and I stand by my right as the True heir to the Crown and shall see you hanged for addressing your daring to accuse your better." Ribald spat and without warning charged Jacob, his longsword raised high. Disappointed Jacob waited while the other man closed the distance between them and drove his sword in towards his chest only to meet empty air, Jacob having rolled under the charging Lord now rose up with his shoulder and bore Ribald up and over his head to fall unceremoniously to the ground. Ribald gasped and clutched for his fallen sword but froze when the tip of Jacob's blade rested on the hollow of his exposed throat. "Do you yield?" Jacob asked with a deadly calm. Furious at his quick defeat by the veteran Knight Ribald spat at him in a last effort of defiance before his world erupted in a fire and darkness as the wicked point of the Knight's blade severed his spine.
